The Gabba is very warm. Have a look on the US site they give a lot more details on their products:

Gabba is rated for 6c-17c although I find it to warm in anything above 15c.

Transparente 10c-18c

Hmmmmmmmmm, so maybe something like an espresso due may be better for what I'm looking for (and then you're into Rapha territory for price!). Will pop into Evans and try a few on - see if its worth 2x as much as something like an endura convert softshell

A mate of mine lives out in California and has just started cycling. He's logged a ride on strava that's 19 miles long with 0ft elevation. Granted, a lot of it was around an airport, but even so! Flat as the proverbial.

Anyone here use Road Hawk or a similar headmount camera when they are out cycling? Any recommendations of one over the other? Contour is another that seems to have good reviews.

Thanks, I was aware that doing the swap is far superior, hence why I need a new strap
when I start my garmin it says its over 200 BPM, used to take a little while to get to under 80, now it doesn't seem to / takes longer, and when I move it jumps up all the time

Gopro and contour are the only ones that are any good in low light, which is important if you want to use it as accident evidence.

Afaik Contour have just gone bust.

Does anybody know where I can get a 1 1/4" crown race from?

I picked up a discounted BMC carbon fork to replace the steel one on my giant defy but it came without a crown race and I can't find anywhere that sells them.

Cheers

None of those have Genesis written on the side ;)

I'm not criticising, I'd love to have a Volant, never mind that there's much better bikes for the money.

Well, I got a big fat DNF.:(

It's amazing how quickly things go from good to bad. I was feeling strong and fit, my LS Gabba and other clothing was keeping me warm despite being sodden from the torrential downpours... then I got a puncture at 35mi.

I really struggled to replace the tube when I was shivering to death and to make matters worse my Lezyne pump fell apart. It turns out it only needed a bolt tightening to fix but at this point I was like **** this. Then the rescue truck happened to pull up on its way to another poor soul and so I threw in the towel and got a lift back to the start.:(

A bit gutted not to have completed the ride but the conditions were atrocious and only bearable if you didn't have to stop.

My Garmin's barometric sensor didn't know wtf was going on...

Mate it was horrendous out there, I didn't envy you! fair play for starting!

Only the Kaffenbach is a similar bike, and doesn't have Reynolds 725 tubing. Brakes are better on the 2014 Genesis too, and most important it looks a lot nicer!

Ugh

what a terminally nasty solution.

You dont really need a replaceable crown race on a modern sealed bearing headset. The surface of the race isnt a contact surface for the bearings anymore so it doesnt wear like it would in a loose ball-bearing system.
