Like I said, I am very well aware what my graphics card sounds like. Now how about a little more maturity and not trying to make other people look like idiots.
Anyway, I'll put my handbag away now.
I literally have no idea what you're talking about. It's almost like you're intentionally misconstruing everything I say in order to take insult from it.
If me referring to the stock cooler as a hairdryer offends you personally, then I don't know what to say to you...
Not sure how I've tried to make you look like an idiot either.
Can anyone explain what I'm missing here?
Fwiw, I'm happy that you're happy with the ref cooler.
Judging by the bench clocks you can achieve with it, I'd assume that your everyday clocks are at a fairly low voltage and don't produce a lot of heat, meaning you don't have to run the fan beyond, say 50% or so.
ED: Just so we're clear, this is the post that's got you thinking I'm making a personal attack or somehow 'hating' on you?
Matt's old ref 7970 could bench at 1340+ with an accelero and another guy here can do pretty much the same on the stock hairdryer cooler.
Should I be mad that my identical card can't match theirs even on water?
My last 7950 on a ref 7970 pcb couldn't do more than 1150 even with uber aftermarket custom aircooling.
It's a lottery whatever way you look at it.
Fancy pcb or not, there are no guarantees. End of.
If that's the case, then you're badly mistaken and have taken it in completely the wrong context. I shouldn't even have to explain this post tbh as it's pretty self explanatory.
Once again, when I refer to the 'hairdryer', I'm referring to the cooler that BOTH our cards share (being the same model and all).
Either way, how you've even managed to take this a personal insult is beyond me... I honestly can't believe how ridiculous this is.
And while I'm here, what has me not electing to go with an i7 before watercooling got to do with any of this? How random is that
