Wonder how many PC gamers are going switch to the new PS4/Xbox One

why would anyone want to downgrade their gaming experience ???

but, being serious for a minute, there's simply nothing being released on PS4/Xbone that comes near to Lineage III or Blade & Soul or Archeage or Star Citizen or Elite or even Farming Sim 2014 !!! :p

I bought a PS3 a few months back for 4 games, Metal Gear 4, GTA V, Last of Us, and Demon's Souls. Now I have played them, I doubt I will ever turn it on again tbh(except as a Blu-ray player maybe). A lot of the games are sub-par and overly simplistic imo....I can't stand the Uncharted games for a start, the gameplay is like it was designed for a 5-year old! If anything, they are the series of games that have put the final nail in the coffin of consoles for me

I am much happier with one machine that can do all that the console can do and more. a lot better.

Edit- actually PS Plus is a good way to try out some games that I possibly like the look of, but wouldn't buy. For example, Remember Me is on there next month

I was considering getting an Xbox One before Microsoft decided they wouldn't support legacy peripherals. I love Forza and would have bought one just for that, but there's no chance if my Fanatec PWGT2 isn't going to work. Otherwise I'm not even going to entertain the idea of getting one at full launch price.

I'll be switching for a the first couple of years at least, it's just too expensive to try and keep up with a new console generation early on.

I currently have both consoles and a PS4 on pre-order but I have just built my desktop in sig as I love Total War and Company of Heroes.
I have played Battlefield 4 Beta on both console and P.C and usually come near the top on PS3 but suck on P.C after a 3 years away from K/M, but I am going to persevere as it was BF2 that really got me hooked on gaming.
The PS4 will probably be used with kids and playing (groan) COD with mates with some BF4 if feeling lazy. :D

I got a 360 in 2007 or so, a PS3 this year and PC gaming since... 1995? So I will get a console, not sure which I will get yet. This generation will be like deciding between Dog **** and Cat vomit. I can't be arsed with the complicated licencing and accounts and family sharing and sort of can but can't trade games in. I think PC gaming is now more simple than console gaming!

PC gaming will still be my primary gaming platform.

I've honestly thought about getting a PS4, but to be honest, i'm a PC gamer, i haven't really played a console game in nearly 7 years i think, not since I had my PS2 set up.

I played on my brother's PS3 once, but i'm not very good at fast-paced FPS shooters like COD (which my brother loves to play), plus almost 2/3 of the games i have now are pc games, even if i can't play some of them due to Win 7 not recognizing them (I'm looking at you, "Stubbs the Zombie"), or being being too old that even XP struggles to recognize them (War of the Worlds, and yet, Age of Empires 1 and 2 play fine on Win 7)

Add to the fact that PS4 will not be compatible with PS3 games (so there'd be no point rebuying the entire Assassin's series, or Red Dead Redemption), and I can only really imagine wanting two games for the PS4 anyway, and at least one (maybe both) of those are coming to PC anyway so....

Besides, it's easier to capture gameplay footage on a PC than it is on a console.

Got a ps3 and xbox 360 s.....made my pc not long ago and not turning back step dad has had the xbox off me to play cod games only game he likes for the campaign and ps3 was been used as a bluray player before i made my pc now its in the loft

Pfff.

I wish they would do cross platform play. These dirty dumbfounded console peasant noobs wouldn't know what hit them.

Hopefully one day!

As for switching, definitely not.
Getting one of these consoles to use in conjunction with my normal PC gaming habits is more likely.

Been there, done that!

Was PC only back in the day UT99, UT2K4. UT3 killed the PC for me as it was a console port and emphasis on new games was clearly being given to the console market...and still is.

I jumped ship and bought a 360 sold all my gaming PC's [I had 4 of them!] and to be honest I found and still do to an extent that the console community was far more social.

However, Im now seriously contemplating a return to PC as althought the console community seemed more social, I have to say of late there's been a lot of folks who still await their balls dropping and to be honest it puts me right of gaming on consoles now. Im 50 and I need to game with adults, gaming with school kids/teenagers is just a bit wierd and highly annoying!

Comon BF4 :)

I came from being a PS3 gamer to PC about 6 months ago but still play both and will most likely end up getting a PS4 though I will still play both. Yes the PS3 community was always more social and accessible and to be honest I feel that the PC gaming community (at least in Battlefield) has a much lower level of maturity with a lot more kids on their parents PC's and keyboard warriors. I'm 33 and I honestly thought that PC would be a much more grown up community, sadly I was wrong. Oh and with regards to the guy who wanted cross-platform gaming because console players "wouldn't know what hit them", me and a few friends made the switch at the same time from being above average but by no means great console gamers and have since pretty much annihilated every group of PC players we've met. The honest truth is that the best PC and console players are pretty much even but the AVERAGE level is higher on console. Thats coming from a non-fanboy who plays both. Just sayin', no offence :)
