Do we Have any Mega Rich Posters?

I'm not so sure, I always thought he was a bit if a wind up tbh, he used to make subtle mistakes. I remember when he was supposed to be living in America but knew how much a loaf of bread was over here.

How many multi millionaires do you know that live in America but know the price of bread?

Oh and he had the opportunity more often than not to prove everyone wrong but that was normally when he went missing for a couple of weeks.

He might have been a wind up but unlike 90% of suchlike he was still making valuable contributions to the community, IMO. I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt because rather than every post he made being a vehicle for dropping hints about how incredible his lifestyle (allegedly) might have been as you'd see from a generic troll, he was helping people out, educating people, and generally talking a lot of sense. OK, so maybe some the anecdotes were a little self-indulgent (I seem to recall him going on about how he knew some big players in the IT industry in the 1980s, had early Microsoft stock etc) but even then he was articulate and it made for good reading.

I guess what I'm saying is even if he exaggerated or was weaving an elaborate web of lies he did so in such a fashion that I didn't feel cheated by taking it at face value as his postings didn't seem of any lower standard than I would expect from someone in that position (this provokes another debate about whether when you are dealing with internet personas, whether it actually makes any difference if people are genuine or not, assuming you never meet them and you never come to any harm through your interactions with them). In some ways a good fake is better than an average real'un!

I'm secretly wealthy but like to use a peasant persona.

I wouldn't class my self as mega wealthy though I would say one needs to be a billionaire to fit into that class of wealth

Like I've said before, overclocking is a poor people hobby. A rich guy would just buy the most expensive processor available and not worry about it.

One of the wealthiest people I know (multi millionnaire) drives around in a Golf.

I know a lot of people in that wealth bracket (mostly because of my job) and most of them live quite ordinary lifestyles. It tends to be the ones who are up to their eyeballs in debt who have the best cars and flashiest lifestyles.

Ferrari in sig = Millionaire.

Hosts these forums iirc and has that F40 as a daily, seen him around locally to me (North Staffordshire) :)

Being mega rich is not about the money, but it helps! :p

I know of a few very wealthy people, none just sit back & enjoy the money, they all work.

One of them has a private helicopter (and one for business use) yet runs around in a 54plate Focus day to day! to look at him you'd never know he had a pot to pee in!

Those in my experience who try to convince you they are rich, usually, are not.

A friend of mine is the daughter of a millionaire.

She lives in a massive house which has been built in the grounds of her parent's house.

She has her own field the size of a football pitch extending from her back yard with stables for her horses and doesn't work, nor has to.

She chooses to dress like a hobo/hippy with dreadlocks and spend her days getting stoned with a bunch of dole dossers and seems embarrassed by the fact she attended public school and has had a privileged upbringing, so much that she speaks in a fake, Liam Gallagher type accent.

Baffles me.
