I've had enough, this car has to go!

A quick update, after speaking to them, it seems that the offer they are making for my car is going to stay on the lower side, which I'm sure if I really pursued it and got the finance company back on board some how, I could negotiate the deal to be a bit more favourable, but I'm thinking that with all this work they've done, providing it is indeed fixed and nothing else comes up, I stick with the car. I'd be happy to keep it if the outstanding issues are fixed as it will be like the car I loved when I first got it, but maybe I should push for some sort of discount or deal on the warranty next year when it's up for renewal, do you think that would be a fair request for me to put to them?

When they made the offer for me the extended warranty was what the dealer expected them to make. I'd push for a further year and see where that gets you as given the bills these things can throw its worth it in my opinion...

It not that bad an engine

It's a 4 cylinder diesel. It has no place in such a car and is only there because all that matters to 90% of car buyers today, be they lease companies or private individuals, is monthly cost and CO2. It's admirable that Jaguar attempted to hold out for so long before sullying the XF range with a 4 cylinder diesel :p

Is it anywhere near as good as the 4-pot 525d?
It was lacking in top-end grunt but it really isn't bad at all considering it's missing two cylinders!

Last update I promise :p

Got the car back today, and they have done an awesome job. Everything is silent in the cabin now, I drove up and down the worst stretch of the A34, the road surface is just diabolical and if there is still a rattle, this would expose it, but it passed with flying colours, not a single rattle, squeak or buzzing sound. I'm really pleased.

I couldn't speak to the right person about the warranty, but I will mention it at some point. Although I'm happy to keep the car now with everything fixed, I'm still going to chase a deal on the warranty

Good news ! Touching wood so it stays that way. I'm still getting that new toy buzz every time I get into mine. Barring a lottery win, it is most likely the best car I will ever own.
