Replacement for logitech mx518

Stock first question, have you de-fluffed it?

There has been a worrying spate of mx518 deaths reported on here of late. Looks at my 2 518's with some concern.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you recommend other brands. Seems that there are so many new ones since the last time I have checked.

it was acting really weird, keeps disconnecting and connecting by itself. Sometimes it stops working altogether.

Really miss it :(

I upgraded to a Logitech G500....nothing wrong with the MX518 (in fact, I now use it at work :p), but I had some discount voucher for Logitech so I used it.

Almost the same shape, but a bit more "gamer" orientated - an extra thumb button on the side, the ability to adjust the weight, and a switch to toggle the mousewheel between standard ratchet action, and freewheeling.

SNAP. But tried another mouse and it also goes intermittently strange. Also had no issues using the MX518 with another PC. I reckon its a Win 7 update that has introduced a driver conflict.

I've moved to a different USB port and not had any issues since.

Worth a punt....

Damn I threw it away lol. Oh well I think it's time to upgrade anyway as it was worn out.

disconnecting + reconnecting intermittently = 99% a wiring problem

unfortunately, replacement for MX518 / G400 is G400s which is retailing at £50.
