Hi guys. I dont normally post threads like this, but one of my work colleagues brought in a bunch of home baking today to try and raise some money towards a fund her one of her relatives. It especially hit home with me as my uncle was taken into hospital yesterday with possible cancer, though its not been fullly confirmed yet and we wont know for sure until the test results come back. Fingers crossed... Anyway...

Basically the little kid has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and doesn't have long left to live. His family are trying to raise some funds in order to make the last few months of his life as special as possible, like taking him on a special holiday and stuff like that.

If anyone can spare anything at all, even just a pound, it would be very welcome. And yes, before anyone asks, I gave £5 today and will be donating again online myself. Thanks.

I've got an almost 3 year old myself, I'm a complete stranger to you and to the little boy and his family.

I guess I just hope if its ever the other way round that random people would help me and my family out to :)

Donated.

Edit: For what its worth, I shared it on my Facebook, if that gets one extra person involved then at least that horrible medium of social networking has been useful.

I don't really get the point. Unless the kid is living in a sess pit, or doesn't have access to medical care, then the money would be much better donated to cancer research charities.

I might sound like a callous ******* saying this but, I do have some perspective, my dad is terminally ill with cancer. Going on holiday won't change the fact that we're losing him, and won't make things any less ****.

The money will hopefully be used to make the poor lad's last days more fun and give his parents more options to do this, what a stupid thing to say.

Whereas money for research would help reduce things like this happening to thousands of other people.

Even as a miserable sod myself, donating to this doesn't automatically take away money from cancer research and I have no problem helping someone who hasn't had much of a life to enjoy what little time they have.

First heard about this a while ago as I follow the BTCC and he's been along to a lot of BTCC events this year, I think his dad works for Pirtek who are one of the main sponsors for a team.
