'Nvidia doesn't need to lower prices to compete with new AMD R7/R9 cards'

Shame :(

Prices seem so artificially high ATM. Seems like im out of the high end game now. (if you could call 680 high end when it released :P)

Have seen a few 780's down to £450, so prices must be coming down. Nvidia probably want to appear to have faith in their hardware on the PR side while slowly reducing prices anyway :p

The main reason why i always buy AMD over Nvidia. I always want the best bang for buck i can get. Until they get competitive on that front ill never consider buying a Nvidia card.

I agree about bang for buck, but I don't agree that Nvidia aren't competitive their. Right now you can get a GTX 670 for £170, a GTX 680 for £220, that's some pretty awesome bang for buck :D

GTX 780 for £450 squid, is good enough bang for buck for a flagship as well.

If AMD can make prices even better with their new space heaters than good on em.

Cheapest 670/680 on ocuk is £235. The 7950/70 are superior cards (fps wise and bus width wise) and still offer better bang for buck, plus have more ram plus have free games which i can recoup further money for.

No arguments that the £170 670's etc were great deals. But that was just ocuk clearing stock. Nothing to do with Nvidia i doubt. Look at 7xx pricing as an example.

As for the 780 even at £450 i still consider that poor VFM when i have a lets say 30% (likely more than that according to my testing) faster setup for £100 less. Cheapest 780 is £470 at ocuk.

I keep mentioning ocuk as i want someone i can rely on for warranty. Maybe you can find a slightly better deal for either card elsewhere but i want peace of mind with my rma's and i know ocuk won't screw me when push comes to shove.

There are some great deals around on older AMD and Nvidia that's for sure. At the new lower prices Nvidia's 670 / 680 are very competitive with the 7950 and 7970 on performance and price.

Come on man don't start nit picking about £15 lol.

I think Nvidia should lower prices, but from a business perspective they don't need to because their high-end cards are selling just fine at their current prices.

AMD would have to substantially undercut Nvidia to instigate significant price reductions on the 770, 780 and Titan, but I just don't see that happening.

£450 is still to high imo, Got my 680 for £380 pre-order. The 780's have been out a while now

Yeah, silly me tightened it up too much not noticing the card was flexing (this was back in the days of a AMD X1900XT). The card still ran, but there was screen corruption - lesson learnt as they say.

At £260 is R9 280X Toxic, or ~£350 2 7950s.
Sorry guys but even at £450 the GTX780 is too expensive compared with the alternatives for the bit (10% max) extra.

You're forgetting batman smoke ;D (PhysX).

Right, that's useless. But I do love adaptive Vsync. Though maybe not for 100..
