Titanfall (XB1/360)

Really looking forward to this if the trailer and demo are anything to go by. XB1 def had the strongest game line up for me at E3.

That looks like fun, it's very COD meets a little BF2142, the mech aspects will hopefully make the gameplay a bit less team deathmatch oriented. I like the look of the mavity gun-esque left hand telekinesis feature :)

That's what I thought - is there an update?

I'm not sure what to think of this. After watching the videos I was kinda thinking - this really is going to turn out to be CoD but with Mechs... still, I guess that is better than CoD - now with added DOGS!!! WOOOT!!! DOGS!!! FFS.

Perhaps the phrase "jumping the shark" could be changed to be "added the dogs"? /digression.

Showing your age with the Happy Days reference.:D

close your eyes and this sounds exactly like unreal tournament, the music, sound effects and voices.

I got that sort of vibe too, towards the end just after he gets in the titan for the first time he looks into the air and fires some sort of lightning gun, that gave me a bit of an Unreal Tournament 2k3 pants tingle :D

Regarding the possibility of Titanfall coming to PS4, to quote Respawn:

Let's put it plainly: will PlayStation owners ever see Titanfall?

"It's definitely not out of the question," Emslie replied. "We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support.

"So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."

To quote EA:

"Obviously a business relationship between Electronic Arts, Respawn and Microsoft led to this," EA Games Label boss Patrick Söderlund - the executive directly responsible for managing Titanfall - told Eurogamer. "There are always reasons for that, but we can't go into them."

Of course! But, from EA's perspective, will Titanfall ever come to PlayStation, perhaps after Xbox exclusivity has ended?

"We haven't communicated anything on that, and I can't comment on that right now," Söderlund replied, before adding: "We're proud to be exclusive to Xbox."

Hmmmm

that does sound like a bit of a yes. but would you release a game a year or so after it came to another platform ? surely by them saying exclusive that would be a sort of minimum time frame

Surprised at the lack of interest in this. The PRE ALFA version that was at eurogamer was simply fantastic. So fluid and fun, I really can't wait for this.

I don't think there's really a lack of interest in it. The game isn't a launch title, seems pointless talking about it until it's closer to release. Do you see a thread for Infamous? Same reason.

THe more I see and hear about it the more excited I get, read about the controls for bouncing off walls etc where amazingly fluid, could make for some very interesting Multiplayer fun!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this could easily be the Xbox One's first real killer app that gamers just have to have. If it turns out to be as good as the early footage suggests it will, I think Titanfall could sell a lot of Xbox One's on its own.

I would agree if it was exclusive, but I'm sure a lot of people who would have picked it up on XB1 if it was exclusive will just stick with their 360 and get it on that instead.

Even though nothing has been announced yet, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Xbox One version have something extra on it that makes it the definitive version, perhaps some extra maps or something. I'm sure MS would want to make sure it's the most desirable version to try to make it a console seller.

For sure the Xb1 version should be much better, I'm just thinking in terms of the mass sales by the COD casual types (they seem to be aiming for this to be the next gen COD). The types that usually buy a new console a couple of years in after the price has dropped etc. I suspect any other more serious gamers would already have picked up an XB1 or would know to buy an XB1 for the best version.
