Madeleine McCann's parents

Gerry McCann saying "It wasn't that bad, actually.", was definitely not edited out or even written in the first place, immediately after Kate's disturbing genitals revelation in the book.

i have to admit i saw a bit the other night where she said 'this isnt our fault, its the person who took her'

i would like to counter that with 'if you had actually looked after your kid she would be alive today'

i still think they should be charged and some of their wealth taken from them to pay for all this. total costs to tax payer so far is £5million! all because 2 rich people are bad parents.

This

How they are able to profit from an event that was entirely their fault, it's just beyond me. Even if they didn't kill her directly or indirectly, they are still responsible for her kidnapping/death, so they should both be charged, at the very least for neglect

A quote direct Kate McCann's book:

""I asked Gerry apprehensively if he'd had any really horrible thoughts or visions of Madeleine. He nodded. Haltingly, I told him about the awful pictures that scrolled through my head of her perfect little genitals torn apart"

She isn't normal.

WTF

the parents make me angry, as a father i couldn't fathom leaving my daughter alone for any length of time where i wasn't in control of her surroundings, she is 3 the age madeleine was when she disappeared and i know she cannot be left unattended, even when she is asleep i am never any further than one room away and always check on her to make sure she is ok. Maybe i am chemically imbalanced for wanting to keep my daughter safe at all times and it is ok to leave them while you go dining with your friends.... mental.... yet they should be help accountable for their part in this horrible tale but as far as i am aware havn't?

They made a mistake, and did something very silly and stupid... But is the price they're paying justified? Is it a fair outcome? I'd have to say no...

You kinda took that out of context, she said just before that she contemplated over the decision to go for tapas for up to a year after the incident... But ultimately it isn't our fault... Still a wierd way of putting it, but gives your quote a bit more context.

From what they are currently gaining from it... Probably yes.

misplaced a daughter they didn't seem to really care about anyway. Now, more wealthy than they were to begin with, plus all the media coverage.

That Tapas must have been real good! ^^

hang on, is she literally saying that she didn't regret going out for tapas and leaving her children until a year after it happened?

.... or have I got the wrong end of the stick

well, they had an easier time than the poor child didnt they? they are also still stinking rich at our expense... yes, they have really suffered.

yup. same here (mine is 2 though). i wouldnt dream of leaving him alone and doing out somewhere. i sit with baby monitor next to me every night as as soon as i dont hear breathing im up the stairs in a flash. i think its just called good parenting but im not sure the mccanns know that phrase.

ah, thats a little better but not much.

i still say its her fault just as much as the kidnapper. what if there was a fire? she could have died in other ways too.

No, I think she means that the thought that their decision to go out for Tapas caused them to lose their daughter played heavily on her mind for a year after the event -- that it was/is their fault for making that decision.

Ultimately, though, she came to the conclusion that they weren't to blame. Solely the one who took their daughter is, and that's how she coped. Torn genitals and all.

Yep that angered me, a child is a priceless gift (just ask someone who can't have children). If they hadn't left their child unattended then she'd still be with them. Just the most simple rule of being a parent, you are responsible for your children at all times.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was about to go into some sort of mad rage! :p

But still though, she's off her rocker thinking she's not even slightly to blame!

Totally agree. Dont leave your child unattended then say it wasnt your fault!!!!!!!

this a million times, but that for me is the worst part, is that they are yet to be held accountable for their negligence
