Evening all

I am trying to get around calling a locksmith to get access again to my post box since I lost the key. A couple of years ago I had massive fraud happen against me where by someone got access to my post box by getting the serial number for it from the inside of the post box (lifting up the flap) and getting a spare key that way. They then intercepted my mail until they had enough info to open credit cards etc in my name but that is another story.

The point of all this is that if I lift up the flap on my post box there is some information that I could pass on to the right person but I haven't a clue who I would call. Does anyone here know?

Thanks in advance :)

Who makes the post box? Phone them.

I haven't a clue. The inside of the post box has a sticker for the construction company. I could call them if no one else has any ideas.

The person who set up all the accounts in your name?

:D

Sorry, I couldn't resist, wouldn't know where to begin.

Haha, I did think this myself. If only I knew who thy were :D

Try taking it down to your local Timpsons or other key cutters, if the information has a code on it they should be able to cut a key from it. There also might be a code on the lock itself.

Edit - Found this http://www.timpsonkeysandlockers.co.uk/c/329/services/316/what-are-keys-to-code- seems you can check online (go to Key Shop) to see if any codes you have are valid, quite handy.

I am a tenant and the post box is one of those ones in the wall (bank of 6) with the postie hole on the outside and the door side on the inside in the foyer. I just had a look for the serial/code on the inside to try take to Timpsons tomorrow so thank you for that Bennie-Mac. Fingers crossed ;)
