hi,
My XSPC D5 Dual Bay Reservoir V2 sprung a leak couple days ago after only a couple months use... So i was thinking of not getting a second one and was wondering what you guys suggest?

It doesnt have to be a bay res, a tube res will be fine but but sure what else i would need if i went for tube res using a D5 pump.

cheers

I got to say they do look very nice indeed. Build quality seems a lot better than the xspc reservoirs. The glue that held the backplate to the rest of the reservoir failed and warped the plastic, leaking coolant over my hard drives.

im not sure what coolant temps i was getting but pretty sure it wasn't that hot. my 2 gpus stayed under 55c and my cpu in the low 60's.

kobi i will load up a pic if the failed res in a bit

Might want to resize that picture - http://imageshack.us/

I've got the same pump/res combo, mines a lot older though :D
The glue really starts to fail when its put under a lot of heat for a prolonged period, i'm not saying that's what's happened as your temps wouldn't mean a very high coolant temp but it certainly looks that way from the picture :p

Must say that Monsoon reservoir looks sweet. Typical american overengineering bling but I am tempted to replace my xspc with that one.

as you can see, the glue failed at the top there leaking coolant

Sorry, but you are mistaken. That is not a V2 reservoir. It's a V1.

The bow in the top at the back is right where the screw in the V2 would have been located.

The good news for you is XSPC will replace that for you if you contact them within their warranty period.

That monsoon reservoir looks really nice but i bet they will be very expensive :(

If it were by bitspower, id expect to sell my whole PC to be able to afford a D5 and the reservoir with a colour kit.

OCuk have some nice tube res'es from XSPC, Photons. They look solid, include white led and can mount a D5 on the bottom, which is very nice. They come in 2 sizes as well, 170 and 270mm.
I am getting 2 170s for my build soon.

Emjay, you dont want to know how much I'll have to pay for watercooling my project, lol.
Cheap is the last thing you could call that.
