My graphic cards stutters all the time in-games?

I have the HD 6950 that is overclocked to an ample 840mhz and memory clock of 1325mhz however whenever in game I get a solid 60fps, I don't see any drop in FPS but I always stutter/freeze randomly. I don't know what it is called but the description of the freeze I can give is that it freezes for less than a second, or maybe one second and then it resumes. If I spin my character on a game like AA Proving Grounds I would only see like 4/5 of the full rotation because of the lag. It is very annoying and unrelated to server as I have OK ping (60ms).

What is the problem, how can I find out if its my graphics card or is it the game/server?

If it helps I send the card out through mail to find the mailer had dropped the card and bent the PCI bracket and some of it rattles slightly. After a week of it being in my rig it's sort of straightened itself out and feels normal however because of that drop will it have knackered my graphics card? everything plays the same?

Do you think I should sell the 6950 as faulty or something even though it still works?

i increased power options to high performance, it reduced stutter but it is still very annoying.

My specs:

i5 4670k stock
alpenfohn k2 mount doom

I have no idea what AA proving ground is but it could possibly be a CPU issue. What CPU do you have and the rest of the system. Also, I doubt very much that you have a 1300Mhz OC on the card and if you did, it would be hotter than the sun :D

sorry nope i was editing it and then forgot to add the real clock speeds lmao my apolgioies let me add them now

lol turns out the 1300 was the memory clock which was probably why my brain decided to post it as that

edit: edited the main post now

also aa proving grounds is the new beta game: America's Army Proving Grounds.

Tomorrow or so once I finish re downloading a bunch of games ill start my BF3 up and tell you if I receive the same issue (From what I remember, I think I do)

i think it might be. how do i check it?

im guessing if this is the issue then i could easily re-sell the item as used and not faulty/broken? what tests can i perform to fully check this

Download MSI Afterburner, go into settings and tick VRAM so you can see it, then just play something for a few mins and tab out to check results. Or run it on a 2nd monitor if you have one.
