Does the PS4 & Xbox one have a HDMI 2.0 or a displayPort output for 4K TV support at 60Hz/60fps ?

As a HDMI 1.4 output would be limited to only 30Hz/FPS.....;)

HDMI 1.4 was released on May 28, 2009
and the first HDMI 1.4 products were available in the second half of 2009.[111][143] HDMI 1.4 increases the maximum resolution to 4K × 2K, i.e. 3840×2160 (4K Ultra HD) at 24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz or 4096×2160 at 24 Hz

HDMI 2.0 was released on September 4, 2013.
HDMI 2.0 increases the maximum TMDS per channel throughput from 3.4 Gbit/s to 6 Gbit/s which allows for a maximum total TMDS throughput of 18 Gbit/s.[155][156] This allows HDMI 2.0 to support 4K resolution at 60 frames per second (fps).[155][157][158] Other features of HDMI 2.0 include support for 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, support for 25 fps 3D formats, improved 3D capability, support for up to 32 channels of audio, support for up to 1536 kHz audio, support for up to 4 audio streams, support for 21:9 aspect ratio, support for the HE-AAC and DRA audio standards, dynamic auto lip-sync, and additional CEC functions.[155][159][160]

what would the ps4 do with 4k60? it hasnt got the grunt to play games at that resolution, let alone do it at 60hz, and there's zero 4k60 video around....

Well your thread and posts come across as very PC biased.
it was this review/preview here that got me thinking about this

And I see the sony 4K TV prices are already down to under 3k http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-Brav...tronics_Video_Televisions&hash=item2583c5ac34

But I do admit that I am a lot more of a PC fan/gamer then a console fan/gamer..

Like in what way...

Many many ways. :p

Eventually, they're going to be like a lower cost SteamBox, but with more locked down. I remember that as this generation came out, I got an early 1080i capable TV for them, with all my friends still using SD. Now its rare to not use 1080p with a console

Am guessing/hoping 4K TV's are going start becoming the standard TV most people are going be buying within the next few years

Standard TV for most people within a few years?

No chance, far too expensive, no real support, no standards for media, etc.

Also 8k is going to follow close behind, imo you would have to have more money than sense to go 4k in the next few years.

I will most likely go straight to 8k

Yes that's the first place i would be buy a £3000 tv from..

Ebay via someone with 12 feedback.

Simple fact is 4k is not needed, and would likely cause delays and more expence.

You no remember how quickly the market changed from 720p to 1080p ...;)
