Just had a letter that my line rental would be going up by 90p. I'm on a rolling contract now my 12 month was up.

So I want to switch to another internet provider.

I can't get cable so I'm stuck with ADSL. FTTC is coming by year end and TalkTalk looks cheapest but they have got a bad rap around the internet.

Their 38Mb fibre seems to be cheapest, is there any reason why I shouldn't go with TalkTalk?

It's no real surprise. BT are putting their price up in January too. If you can afford it pay 12 months up front and get it for less than £10 a month.

Here is an article on this

As of December 2012, according to Ofcom's complaints figures, TalkTalk are no longer the most complained about broadband provider in the UK.

Orange now hold the bottom spot.

0.5 in every 1,000 Orange broadband households made a complaint to the regulator in the third quarter of 2012.

In this period, Orange told their 'free' broadband subscribers that they would have to start paying for Orange line rental which could account for the bump.

TalkTalk managed to keep up their reputation for poor service, however: it was the second worst provider with 0.35 complaints for every 1,000 customers.

People should leave Sky if they can. Most exchanges are overloaded and the prices are becoming really silly.

They are? At least Sky admit to congested exchanges and are increasing capacity at those exchanges unlike Virgin Media who seemingly oversubscribe their network on purpose and do nothing about it.

Line rental will still be cheaper than BT come January. Unlimited BB for £7.50 a month if you have TV? Amazing price. BT's unlimited BB package is more than double at £16!

They shouldn't have let it get like that in the first place though should they! Pure greed. Even if it was £1.00 a month it's no good been cheaper if theres major problems like this is there?

Any kind of disaster recovery spend is just in case. And it's not really just in case, it's in anticipation of demand triggered by offering a product at a certain price point.
