I currently have the 580 gtx 3gb gaming at 1440p, it runs bf3 on mainly high and ultra setting, but with minimum aa. I was wanting to play bf4 just as well or better, so was thinking of the 770 gtx 4gb would suite me better?

Not very "up" with cards but i would have thought the 780 would be better,im sure some knowledgeable person will come along soon and confirm what is better for you.

The 770 is basically a 680, It is a decent chunk faster than the 580 while running cooler, quieter and using less power.

see here for some comparison

I beleive that will be for a 1.5gb 580 and a 2gb 770 but you can see how much better the 770 is compared to a 580

Might even be worth considering amd side too. 280x (7970) has 3gb of vram as standard and is cheaper and slightly faster than the 770/680

Not to mention bf4 is rumored to be amd optimized.

770 is overpriced for what it is. You are better of with a cheap 7970 or 280x, these will give you a substantial performance gain over a 580.

+1
I would say 680 too, but it's better if you got 3GB+ VRam at this point.

I went 580 to 680 before, and the gains were definitely noticable.

at 1440p i think a 770 will defo struggle. and if the beta was anything to go by, i doubt you'll be able to play it with high settings on a 7970

i would personally suggest a 780. prices are very likely to come down but even now some cards are going for around £470 which is around £100 more than 770

If he's gonna stretch to the 780 (current prices) then may as well stretch to 7990 :P

I would highly recommend waiting a few weeks and seeing if the GTX 770 or GTX 780 prices drop.....

Right now is a really bad time to buy a fairly highend GPU....(Unless someone doesn't have one to start with)

AFAIK the 780 is 100% faster than a 580 so I would imagine the 770 being the same over the 570 if that helps at all. I may be wrong there but Im sure I heard that said on the pcper podcast
