Okay ive been stuck at 1170 for a while,kinda gave up¬
Just had a play and got valley running with no artifacts at 1200!
I used the buttons on the matrix and just put the power setting right up to the red level, then ran valley at 1200 with 1300power
It nearly didnt artifact so i changed the power target from 120 to 100 and the load line down to 75 and it didnt artifact!

I presume you tried this via gpu tweak first? Only asking as I am stuck there too. What do the the buttons do that gpu tweak doesn't hmmm. If it works it works will give it a try if I can get my fingers to them.

The buttons give you an extra 0.625v over what GPU tweak can give in software.

Gpu tweak was tried first and was getting nowhere. Got frustrated and me being me went all out and moved it to red. Seemed to work. still running games on gmode as well its all that is needed at the moment.
 
I am just not pleased with these cards at all!

I am getting artifacting at 1100Mhz in BF3 now! Really? Are you kidding me? BF3 Metro and atifacting

Also if I don't set the Load Line and Power Target to 100%, my top card hits 85 degrees

Send them back man. Sounds like a bad batch. Keep the free game vouchers and DSR those bad boys and get two of these.

Submitted my RMA. I wish to exchange for the MSI 280X (which I had on my order originally but received a good deal on the 7970s due to stock shortages)

I hope OCUK can help me avoid downtime of my rig but realise they have a process to follow

Quite annoyed currently tbh but I should have Google'd the issues before. Loads of issues on ROG forums and Youtube about dried up thermal material, poor overclocking, high temps etc

As long as it artifacts at stock you'll be ok. If it works fine as stock the rma won't be successful. Make Bailey aware that if they find no fault, you wish to DSR. ;)

A few days. They need to get the cards back, check they're ok, not damaged etc then they'll send out the new ones. The quickest method is to ask for a refund and just order the new cards now. The refund will take about 3-5 working days from the day they get the card back. Then it may take a few more days to clear on your card/bank.
 
I must say I'm a little disapointed with my R9 280x card, I've not attempted to do any overclocking yet however I get lots of random artifacting and in BF3 I get random black flashing backgrounds.

I'm using the latest drivers but even so still getting these problems.

Does this sound like a faulty card to you guys ?
 
I bought a DCII TOP during the sale, immediately i thought id received a bad overclocker,would artifact above 1090/1500 and none of the software i used like GPU tweak , AB or CCC overdrive would let the sliders go past 1125/1575 at all

until a few days when i tried again,installed GPU tweak again and suddenly able to benchmark at 1120/1560 without issue , sliders still wont let me go above 1125/1575 tho :(

Sounds like a faulty card. Got a video or image of the artifacts?

I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit, yes I'm using the beta 1 drivers. The ones provided with the card reported it as a 7970 so that was the first thing I did.

Its disapoitning its started doing this before even having a chance to overlclock :mad:
