Wasn't quite planning on purchasing one quite so quickly, but this came up and it was just too good to resist:)

She's a 2008 E92 335i M Sport Auto in Sparkling Graphite Metallic. 45k miles, FBMWSH, 2 previous owners and on top of the quite generous standard spec there were quite a few options boxes ticked as well:

Pro Nav
HiFi speaker system
TV function
USB + Aux port
Sunroof
Folding mirrors
Auto dimming wing mirrors
Front & rear parking sensors
Climate comfort windscreen
Individual sunshade glazing
Adaptive headlights
High beam assistant
Extended light package
Heated seats
Extending armrest

The dash is grey poplar, and doesn't look at all brown like it does in the pics. Never thought I'd own a car with wood on the dash but this gives the interior quite a warm feeling compared to the aluminium that most E9xs seem to have.

The wheels do need a refurb, and there is a small scratch on the rear bumper, but apart from that it's a really tidy car. Can't wait to pick her up in a few days time, when hopefully I can get some better pictures :)

The 3 litre twin-turbo engine is beautiful, but you'll become addicted to the noise and the power and then you'll find yourself being very good friends with the Fuel Station staff! :)

I've not owned an N54 or N55 with 45k miles on the clock, but perhaps Fox could advise on the potential for component wear/tear if it has been driven hard?

Hehe I'm fully prepared for frequent trips to the petrol station, although thankfully I only do 5k miles a year so it shouldn't be too painful :) Kind of used to high fuel consumption as my 330 has only been managing 21mpg recently even on longer trips, although now I've done the Vanos seals I managed a cracking 32mpg on the round trip to London this evening!

Wear and tear shouldn't be much of a concern as she'll be covered under a BMW comprehensive warranty from the get-go.

Frankly, if you've got the warranty, you're sorted. N55 would offer slightly better MPG and some say better throttle and turbo response, but you'd miss out on the N54 awesome aftermarket potential that is out there. Burger Motorsports (USA based) have stage 1, 2 and 3 kits which frankly make the N54 engine even more insane.

It would void your warranty, and insurance would increase too, so bear that in mind if you get the urge!

Very nice and basicly the same as mine spec wise but mine is a 335d with cinnemon leather. I too have a wood dash and when I saw pics of it advertised initially thought ah well I can get that sprayed but it turns out I quite like it.

Enjoy

Cheers guys :) I've sorted the funding so will be going to pick it up this evening..will grab some better pics tomorrow :D:D:D:D

Couple of questions:-

Can you get the same or similar spec in 4 door or even better touring?

How does having the auto box compare to a manual - is it possible to get a manual 335i?

You can get a manual 335i (the 335d was auto only), personally I didn't like the auto 335i as I found it took a fair bit away from the driving experience.

That looks lovely, congrats. Did you pay a stupid price though?? ;)

Depends what you call stupid :) It was up for £15950 and I got him down to £15100. Some people may class that as silly money for a 2008 car, but considering the spec I think it's a bloody good price.

Yes they do 4 door saloon and touring versions. I love the auto boxes on these as they make them so easy to drive, but some people think that it makes the car too easy to drive fast and takes the involvement out of the drive.

Fox wrote a pretty comprehensive guide to them here:

It is silly money for a car thats closer to 6 than it is to 5, though posts like this really make me regret selling mine given that it'd be worth not exactly loads less than I paid. I only paid £5k more than you for a 2.5 year old one with CIC HDD Nav, 1 owner, from a main dealer :(

To have only lost under 2k a year in depreciation over the next 3 years of its life would have been insane!

I just dont understand why they are still worth so much money? It's mental.

This. They do seem to hold their value very well even after the new 3/4 series. I picked up a 58 plate 335i convertible with DCT and CIC Nav for £16900, and it looks like it could still be worth that next year!
