Baldy Egg Heads

so true mate; so true

I suppose I currently save a relative fortune in shampoo costs too

and not forgetting you would lose out on the "hen night games" maybe its just a local thing but one of the forfeits always seems to be that the bride ahs to rub a bald blokes head between her **** and I don't like to disappoint ;)

As much as I'd love to have a thick volume of hair back I would miss having a #1 all over I think.

Fair point. One of the wonders of being so folically challenged is that it takes seconds to wash and dry your hair and a quick buzz over at home once a week on #1 has saved a fortune on barbers over the years.

Nope not bothered about it. Wish they'd concentrate their research on more important things.
To be fair, it may be good for children or women who suffer hair loss very early in life - the same technology may be useful for treating burn victims.

I wouldn't advise a haircut man, hairs are your aerials, they pick up signals from the cosmos and transmit them into your brain.

This is the reason baldheaded men are uptight.

I love baldies!

A bald head would always catch my eye before a luscious thatch, all started from watching Yul Brynner when I was younger. :)

I'm 22 and started to know that I was badly losing hair in the crown area. Being so young this really did have an affect on my self-esteem.

I started reading a lot on the internet and took up a regime over the past 4 months:

MORNING
1x Vitamin B12
Wash hair with Caffeine Shampoo.

EVENING
1x Minoxidil
1x Finasteride.

Now I know the 'after' picture is horrible lighting, but I was reading through this thread the early hours of this morning so wanted to snap a picture before I forgot.
If people are interested I can get someone else to take a picture in much better light, later today.

I have to say I don't really understand why anyone would mind losing their hair, it's bloody great not having it! :D Plus I'd not have been able to work the Picard magic on my now wife otherwise.

Grade one, every two weeks with a buzzer - such a time saving. :D

Actually that's a good point, well made. Completely agree with that.
You are right on average tho, for most it's just vanity & many only care for entirely the wrong reasons.

It's just fortunate it has some real side benefits, pretty much the same for cosmetic surgery - as it has really helped people who've been in severe car crashed/lost half a face. The vanity industry has yielded some pretty life-changing & positive benefits to some who really needed help (every cloud has it's silver lining it seems).

Looks like you've succeeded in growing some hair back on the top of your head jrwagh333 - well done, I guess.

If find it all a bit depressing though. It seems we live in a society which places such emphasis on body image that a little hair thinning is enough to severely affect the confidence and self-esteem of certain individuals.

Indeed.

The problem is, the attractiveness level of a person make a huge difference to how well you do in life - interview success, relationships, making friends (due to the halo effect, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_effect ) - while unfortunate that society is this way, it's almost understandable why people worry so much about looks.

To give a quick example - 'Multiple studies of the halo effect in jury outcomes have shown attractive individuals both receive lesser sentences and are less likely to be convicted than unattractive ones.' ... now that's depressing.

Or even worse..

'On a scale of 1 to 9, the well-written essay by the attractive author received an average of 6.7 while the unattractive author received a 5.9 (with a 6.6 as a control).

The gap was larger on the poor essay: the attractive author received an average of 5.2, the control a 4.7, and the unattractive a 2.7, suggesting readers are generally more willing to give physically attractive people the benefit of the doubt when performance is below standard than others.'

Except that this research happens for a good reason: if it works then you make a ****-load of money. That's the reason the money is spent on baldness research, not malaria research.

I started going bald at 20 :( It all started with my hair just falling out in the bath one day , at the age of 30 I now shave my head weekly as it does not grow at all on top now :( I miss it but then again once you go bald what choice do you have, shave it off or look stupid.

I wish they'd invent something other than Chemotherapy that would save me having to BiC my bonce every day, wouldn't have hair on my head if you paid me. :p

my hair started to thin a little while after having my little girl and getting married lol

but for about the last 10 years I've been shaving it right down
