A nippy car for up to £15k

Well I've put a deposit down on a brand new Fiesta ST in spirit blue. You get the style pack for free, I've also paid for the convenience pack and auto wipers. I had a phone call off the dealer earlier saying because I work for DHL I get 2 years servicing for free and 3 years break down cover.

You have a car with 300bhp, that is well known for giving quite a "kick" in acceleration.

So you're chopping it in for a 180bhp hatch instead?

I just... what?

I will be getting the mp 215 kit which makes 0-60 quicker than a Focus St. My focus is knocking on now and I want something newer and that I won't worry it will die on me. It will have a 3 year warranty and once the 3 years is up I will move on to something bigger. Also the St holds a soft spot for me after it was my best friends(no longer with us.) first car and it was the one that made me realise I needed something quicker than my old 1.4 corsa.

I don't understand though.

OP wants faster car, so buys a slower one and then will spend more money on a remap and still having a slower and less powerful car.

Why not just remap your Focus???

If you went this route, then why not a Clio RRS 200? As a road car they're supposed to be great, and the platform is apparently easy to upgrade to 250bhp according to Chris Harris. If you're going the small hot hatch route with upgrading, from what I've heard the Clio is more open to that then the Ford. Apparently anyways.

I never said I want a faster car, did you read of the op? I was thinking about the gti to start with. All I said was I'm unsure about the drop in power, not that I must have a faster car. My focus is remapped. The fiesta will be faster than a standard focus St with the remap which isnt too bad for a little car.

I prefer the look of the St. It looks awesome in spirit blue plus I'm sure it will be pushed further in the recent future. I prefer the older rs shape over the new one.

Isn't he old one with the spoiler on? That's the one I'm thinking of. Possibly the 197.

Ah yea, we are thinking of the same car. The 197 and 200 are largely the same, just the 200 had the facelift with a new nose.

The new turbo Clio 200 wasn't what I originally meant but to be honest I don't think it looks half as bad as what all the Piston Head critics are saying it does.

Besides, the new cup version of the turbo 200 looks great.

On the 197 & 200 non-turbos, the cup spoiler was optional. I don't have a spoiler on my N/A RS 200.

Had one for two years, don't think I've had a better handling car.

Probably because Renault force you to have a DSG style semi auto, I think I'd have the Fiesta just so I can the stick wobbly thing myself.

AND I'M A MASSIVE FORD FANBOI, in b4 robbie g.

I think he meant the RS 200 EDC, I can't see an older 200 being easy to take up to 250.
