Wiper blades that don't suck

PIAA silicone wiper blades never make a noise, even on a dry windscreen. They also add a coating better than Rain-X. I've been using them for years, they are a bit more expensive and start to smear a little once they are 12-18 months old. You can get refills though.

101k! Although astonishingly there aren't as many stone chips as you'd think! The majority of those miles have been spent up and down the M3/A3 corridors :p

Lucky! :p my bonnet is fine, but the front splitter is terrible, debating a respray but I don't like body shops.

All wiper blades on ECP are 25% off currently with the code WIPER25 - Heads up for those who haven't opted in for the mailshot :)

My Denso Hybrids are still going strong. Been very impressed with them, so much so that I'll be replacing them with an identical set when the time comes. :)

£5 pair of "Aero VU Flatblades" I bought on ebay back in October still going strong, if anything they've become better with age :p

Bump!

Walking around a big Tesco today noticed they have some new wiper blades in, all sizes were £4 each. Noticed the attachment area is flatter so would fit flush with my hook type arm and not look out of place or aftermarket so for £8 I bought a 22" and 19" (driver's stock size is 23" but what's an inch...).

Looks fine:

Before/After with the Valeo ones that I got last time round. They didn't seem to last a full year and started juddering at high speed:

So I've had all brands from top to in store now, they all last as long as each other essentially. Give or take a month or two. Given how much the big brands cost vs these it's crazy paying £25~ for a set when £8 sets like this should last just as long. I prefer OEM looking blades but as BMW don't sell them any more I have no choice but to keep an eye out for flush fitting flat blades. Will wait until it rains and see how they perform and if they're good will buy another set to keep spare as no doubt Tescp will switch to something else in 6 months.

I am genuinely amazed by my wipers on the truck here, 14 year old vehicle, 167k miles, even without rainx the water beads beautifully on the windscreen and the wipers clear it perfectly, no idea what these wipers are but the sun generally destroys them.

With RainX I don't even put the wipers on if I'm going 40. My 12 year old BMW in the UK's windscreen was terrible in comparison, very odd.
