Pokemon X and Y - 3DS - Oct 2013

Are you using a calculator to work out the individual ivs?

I use a combination of iv calculators and online lvl 50 battles so I can extrapolate which poke has full ivs then watch them level up as a litter and see what stats then best ivs get to at say lvl 5, 10, 16)"

When uve bred a box full you know pretty quickly which pokemon are good and which are not. Get a final lvl 50 battle and double check.

If your learning egg moves be sure to check on their level and position of the egg move on the move roster as the day care couple relentlessly replace your moves by learning each new one at the corresponding level. You can move relearn learnt egg moves that get deleted but they won't be getting passed down unless one of the breeding pokes has tje move/s.

How long do eggs take to hatch?

It's not based on time it's based on steps taken so find a long road and just cycle up and down it until it hatches, if you have a pokemon with 'flame body' ability this cuts the distance in half as long as it's in your party and makes the whole process a lot more bearable.

Well, I love this game.

Picked up a 2DS and X from Tesco, £130. Put in around five hours so far, I've just picked up Snorlax. Everything about this game is fantastic. The sprites and animations are perfect, the balance of original Pokemon is making it just nostalgic enough, the pacing is spot on... And man, the new Exp. Share.

Love, love love.

Where do I find my friend code to share?

Is the guide worth it gents? I do buy game guides from time to time, mostly for fighting games and RPGs. For Pokemon games I get most of my info from Serebii though, let me know.

I've just got mine but will report back when I've looked through it. I love guides. I've got some special editions of games I don't even own! (Like how I've preordered the fancy Zelda ones (£119!) And I only own one game!)

lol I love my guides as well, have some beautiful limited edition hardcovers of Diablo III & Dark Souls etc. Yeah let me know for sure, thank you.

EXP. Share does make it too easy. I'm just about to hit the 8th Gym and have 6 Lvl 70s

Should have spent more time breeding and levelling up your baby pokes. I got a lvl 45 gyarados and a lvl 50 one plus I stopped using el croakie and super overpowered speed boost blaziken.

new team to be for the last 2 gyms:

Nidoqueen
Bagon/salamence (mixmence)
Gyarados
Absol (false swiper)
Alakazam (timid syncroniser)

At the start of the game I was pokemon swapping with those in the PC to evolve, but gave up after a couple of gyms :p

I've just got a Ditto, so will begin my breeding after the Elite4, theres no need for it otherwise.

Btw, where can I buy evolution stones? The handful you receive travelling isn't really enough

There's a shop in Lumoise city that sells Fire, water and Leaf stones, i think it also sells thunder stones later in the game too. There's also the Super Secret Training minigames, there's a chance of getting a stone from them.

Finally happy with my team now:

Gengar
Greninja
Magneton
Charizard
Lucario
Crawdaunt (HM Slave)

If I'm going to challenge a gym I'll swap Crawdaunt out for Gabite.
