looking to sell my 04 seat ibiza in sig as i just dont need it anymore

its a good car but i cant part with my noisy older and more expensive to tax, insure, service, etc etc car as i love the honda too much

it has no problems mechanically (never has had) but is a bit cosmetically not perfect
the front wings have two rust patches on each side which are quite large, (two inches in diameter) which start from the very top of the arch

what is my best option for repair considering i am selling before the end of the year?

i wing would be ok but i doubt there are that many in yellow? besides with the fading of yellow i dont know how bad it would look. Had it been red black or silver i think i would have a better chance

i have never heard of SMART, seems very small problems is this too big?

Have had a quote for new wings not in my colour for 100 Inc delivery,
Not sure how much getting them colour changed will cost Tbh apparently the supplier can do it

Need to send pictures the the repair place also

Is the corrosion just a bit of surface rust?
If so I wouldn't be replacing the 2 wings if you are selling it within two months.
Tart it up and get it gone.

It looks to be surface, Tbh never been very good at correcting cosmetic things as I usually do too much of something. Not even sure how I would go about the stage after the prep stage

And if that's the likely recolour cost it probably isn't worth it

If you can get one of these smart repair guys to do the two spots then it would be maybe half the price. Dunno if they'd rub it back for you too or if you'd need to do that yourself.

I wouldn't be sticking two wings on it if I was going to sell it either - what is it even worth?

Haven't looked at cost. But i would say 2K give or take, it hasn't done many miles but is a bit scruffy
I think if the panel cost is 300 all in plus my time it's ott

Just knock a couple of hundred off the price and let someone else deal with it. You're getting into the kind of money where people don't really care about small rust patches

I still think going down the route of two new panels is the wrong direction to take on a car you are selling.
Get a bodyshop to touch it up then if the smart repair places don't want to touch it.
Or treat the rust patch yourself with a wire brush and some rust treastment liquid and then apply a fine coat of stopper putty to even out the roughness.
Sand that back, then give it to the smart rapair / bodyshop to finish.

Extremely common issue on early Ibizas. Seat in their wisdom put a piece of foam between the inner arch and wing at the 12 o'clock position of the wheel. There's a small gap and it allows dirt and water in. This is then held against the wing, and it rots from the inside out. Seat get away with refusing to honour the 12 year anti corrosion because they blame it on a stone chip.

There is no quick fix for this, if you look under the wing upwards you'll see most of the wings lip edge will have corroded away if it's got to the point where you can see it by just looking at the car. The best fix is two new wings (about £30-80 each) and then sprayed to suit, and the foam cutting back to stop it happening again. Any bodge fix will be fairly obvious because it's such a common fault - anyone who knows anything about the Ibiza will be taking a very close look there. I think it's one of those things that's either done right or you are honest with the buyer and take a hit on the price.
