Anyone have any knowledge on how to fix smeg dishwashers? Our Smeg DF612SDX has been throwing up error codes every time we try to use it. Basically its been indicating the error code E6 as noted in the manual under ‘water pump-out malfunction’ I have since had the the pump out to check for blockages, filters cleaned and outlet pipe is clear too.

I've tried emailing smeg but they wont release any details due to possible liability issues

Stopped using it for about a week and out of curiosity programmed it again for another wash and it seemed to complete the whole cycle but at the very end threw up the error for 'wash sequence interrupted' and now doesn't get passed the initial rinse stage.

Did you replace it yourself? Reluctant to have to get someone out to fit something if I can do it myself but its knowing what needs replaced. How'd you narrow it down to the pressure switch?

No I didn't, engineer diagnosed the fault eventually after eliminating everything else, I had a blanket cover insurance policy at the time, which covered dishwasher, washing machine etc.

EDIT: Google 'smeg pressure switch' look at first result SMEG 1612C .

I bet even though you get the E6 error it pumps out, yes? ;)

Yeah it does - but often it throws up this error after the pre-rinse and wont continue further. But today I programmed it for another wash and it went on for the full amount of time - cleaned the dishes but produced the error right at the end! :/ I could live with that but this happens in about 1/10 cases.

The flood protector is being activated.

Bizarrely, I have the same dishwasher and it has been trowing up the same fault today.

It is caused by a leak, the leaks normally come from the side tank, the o rings perish, the main motor or the alternate valve.

The alternate valve has failed on mine, it is leaking like a good un. :D

I have taken some picots for you, I will upload them later.

@OldCoals been a while I know - but my PC has been broken and awaiting a PSU for it. Dishwasher has been left to one side - do you still have those pictures?
