Dunno if this has been posted, Newsnight last night, very entertaining, personally I like Russell Brand. Paxman's defence very flimsy and attempted to hide behind a thin veneer of apparent wisdom.

One of the so called 1% lecturing the world on how the rich get away with so much and calling for "revolution" without really detailing what that would entail or how it would work. While sometimes he has something worthwhile to say (such as his stance on drugs) on this he is just coming across as a bit of a hypocrite.

He detailed a bit lol, he said the folks organising would be the 'admin bods' lol

I thought Russell Brand came out of this well and I think Paxman respected him by the end of the interview.

He is an intelligent man, there's no mistaking that. Like him or loathe him, the man has interesting concepts.

As for saying he's a hypocrite, not really. Is someone not allowed to rise to his position before realising he doesn't like the tier he inhabits? And after all, if it wasn't for his celebrity, how would he get any exposure to bring these thoughts to the table? I also wouldn't call him one of the 1%; wealthy perhaps, but I fear you may be grossly over-estimating his wealth.

I wouldn't class it as a vs. to be honest, there wasn't a 'winner' and Paxman wasn't taking an opposite stance to Brand, merely digging into his answers a bit.

People need to realise that eloquence != intelligence. It's far harder to make a good point using clear, basic English than to shroud it in unnecessary vocabulary like a cheap magic trick.

Fair observation, however I feel our Russell has some substance and intelligence, albeit perhaps tinged with frivolity at times.

kinda I spose, but Paxo always has that sneering oneupmanship thing going on, I felt he was scared to engage properly incase Brand outsmarted him, he played for a draw.

He's very eloquent and charismatic, but he is extremely naive if he thinks a revolution will improve the lot of anyone. No revolution lasts forever, and when the smoke finally clears, all that is left is a great deal of innocent dead people and a new regime/elite in power.
