It has to be mandatory, running a game solely from an optical disc simply isn't feasible any more. Whether games give you the option for a partial or full install though hasn't been fully explained.

Well this is why I was somewhat confused - the Guerilla devs have been talking about how they reduced the game [Killzone Shadow Fall] size from 290GB to 40GB and it'll run beautifully whether from HDD (which seemed to imply this was only in the case of digital download from the PS store) or streaming from Blu-ray. Why mention about Blu-ray if the game is going to install to HDD? Or is it going to take an astronomically long time to copy 40GB of data so initially the game will have to run from BD.
 
Just paid for my PS4 with shopto along with my Xbox One. Had a bit of a scary moment when the Xbox went through but the PS4 declined payment, turns out Tesco had blocked my card due to the large transactions. All sorted now though, but highlights the reason why I wanted to pay earlier incase there were any issues! Now just got the painful 4 and 5 week wait! :o:D

Yeah I gave them a call and went through some security stuff, then re submitted payment and it was fine. I've not had the card long so I suspected it may decline one of the orders.

Just updated my preorder to the Knack and Killzone pack. I've also ordered the blue controller and NBA 2K14 and FIFA 14. Super excited.

Killzone looks incredible and I can see myself playing this a lot. Destiny, Drive Club and Watch Dogs will be my early 2014 purchases.
 
Some features will not be available at launch, such as “suspend/resume mode” which is a feature that keeps the PS4 system in a low power state and promptly takes users back to their game.

I'm really starting to like killzone shadow fall, is it possible for me to change my preorder from call of duty ghosts to killzone ? If so how do I do this, I preorded from game if this helps ?

Edit: sorted going Instore tomorrow to switch to killzone, plus dad is getting ghosts, so I get the best of both worlds ! :)
