I'd just like to say thanks very much reference the RMA process of my 2 7970 Matrix Platinum's. Very quick turn around and excellent service, I don't see many threads praising good service, so I thought I'd mention it.

Now I have my cash back, I need to find a new Card :D, wait to see what happens to Nvidia prices I guess..Or go back to the Red side..

Out of interest

1. Why did you return them? What issues did you encounter?
2. Remind me: did you pay for return postage yourself and if, how much was it?

I do like OCUK service

You know humbug.. even if i had a spare £400 laying around i dont think it would fit in my case anyway

I'd wedge it in somehow though :p

Take a hack saw to your case, or get a new one, i recommend this one your not going to get another one as good as that one for sud £100

Parcel Farce cost £12 insured. I expect to pay, how most work, shame OCUK don't use collect plus but meh.

1st card just broke, dont know how, was showing 100% GPU usage with the clock stuck at 500mhz on the desktop, freezeframing, black screen flashing.
2nd Card was artefacting all over the place in the end.

Budget is about £200-£300 so the 7990 is a no go, despite it being nice. The Fanboy in me wants a Nvidia really, but they are not worth buying right now. I doubt I would be truly happy without a Nvidia tbh and a 280x would prob tide me over until the new releases.

Still, the MSI 280 is very tempting and might turn out to be good! One thing is, no more Asus GFX for me!

I had High hopes, just got unlucky, the only problem I have is that its the 3rd bad ATI/AMD card I have had so it really puts me off getting another AMD card, even though I know it kinda luck of the draw. :D

Waiting game or 280X ;)

I am still not convinced Nvidia are going to let them prices drop. I mean, i can see it drop slightly but there isn't a need for huge drops. Saying that, the 770 hardly represents any value right now and can easily use a £70 price drop.

Wait for the 290, its suppose to overclock to about the same as the standard 290x
