Hi,

I've got my XBMC machine setup now for all my main media and DVB, but most of the UK on demand services don't work through XBMC (like 4od), and I'd also like something to use for Netflix/NowTV/Lovefilm.

The Roku seems to do most of this, but to be honest for the money I think a BD player would be a better bet. Which of the makes offer the best online services?

I would prefer a BD player.

Cheaper at around £100 and far quieter with a proper remote. The Samsung players have a wealth of streaming apps. BBC, ITV, Netflix, Lovefilm. You name it, its got it.

The BD-F6500 is a good choice. The purple shirts do it for about a ton.

Remote isn't an issue, but I don't want or need a console anyway. To be honest I'd rather spend less than a ton as it'll only be used as a backup/extra device. The samsung's seem to have the better selection of ondemand services.

Well if you dont mind connecting by ethernet, you can drop to the 5100 for £60.

That's about as low as you're gonna get though.
