Im sure i seen a chair thread somewhere but cant find it :\

Anyways, Ive just gotten a £80 chair from the bay and its terrible! It looks the dogs and even says on the advert that is "extremely comfortable" but when i sit on it it goes flat and has no cushion on my ass :\

I need a really comfy chair, i work at a desk all day and my ass takes a beating (not gay) so what do you guys recommend?

Ikea.

No joke... some of their stuff is sooooooooooooooo comfy

Spend 200 and get a good chair that properly reclines and adjusts. You won't regret spending more on a chair.

Aeron if you can find at a non silly price. Got mine about 10 years ago (600 quid iirc) and still looks like new - and this is with constant use. I work from home 9 to 10 hours a day and then gaming, surfing etc in the evening can be another 2 or 3 hours as well.

Is the ass bit really comfy?

I dont really care about the back bit because i always sit straight any ways.

£125 seems a bit expensive for fake leather, ill need to pop into ikea and try it out, im gonna go to staples too and try some of them.

Ive found this one too, http://www.staples.co.uk/furniture-...ckaro-executive-airmesh-chair-black?Prefix=WW

Seems more padded than the Markus but i have heard the Markus is good so its on my list, 3 so far!

Any more recommendations?

I'll be honest, if you're definitely only going to spend up to £100, don't spend £100, of all the chairs I have had that cost that were less than or around £100 they were all the same basic non reclining design with fixed arms and padding/cover that lasted around the same amount of time. It's kind of proved by the fact that you bought one for £80 and it's not much cop.

Is there a reason why you only want to spend £100? If you think it's not worth spending more you are provably wrong if you're going to spend many hours in it.

The Difference between a £20 chair from Argos and an IKEA markus at £125 is extremely minimal, you're spending for nothing imo, mechanically they are the same and many people on these forums have confirmed that the markus is not particularly rugged either.

For me it's like this, is an ikea markus 6 times better than a £20 chair from Argos? Not even close in my opinion, is the chair I have which was ~£200 twice as good as a Markus, easily.

My opinion of course. Just trying to help.

The main reason i need a new chair is because i work all day sat in a chair and when i get home i sit in a chair to game/use my PC.

Some at work are decent but they are like £400+ and im not paying that. I may stretch to £150 as long as it doesnt fall apart just when ive ran out of warranty!

The 10 year guarantee on the Markus seems nice but to be it looks very cheap and basic, and will my ass hold out for up to 4-5 hours a day sitting there? And i mean 4-5 hours straight!

I need cushion on my butt, so what price range would you suggest? I dont really want to go near £200 for a chair but if it will last and be super comfy then i will considerate it, especially since Xmas is soon :)

The more expensive chairs usually come with at least some kind of guarantee, I can't remember what came with mine.

Have you tried a mesh seat before rather than a cushion? I find it very comfortable and cooler, so less sweat :o

I just don't think there's much point spending halfway there to get something that's not much better.

Yeah i can see where your're coming from, thats what i started off like, a £60 chair to a £80 chair and now £80 to £100 to £???.

I dont mind the backs really its just the ass bit, are there mesh ass bits? I dont mind fabric over leather as long as its comfy.

I like this one too which is £120 http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/a/pb/Rome-Executive-Office-Chair/pr=Q2H&id=3266732/

It seems nice and chunky!

It was my thread you're looking for CLICK!

EDIT

I had Kashmir manager chair for couple months and it became very uncomfy and loose...
My friend bought markus roughly a month before I bought my chair and now they are both insanely uncomfortable...

EDIT2

You could get one of these, but it's a bit more than 150...

Hmm i suppose at the end of the day its all personal taste, the Markus does have good ratings and the Kashmir too but the Kashmir is now 250 quid and the Markus £125?

I will visit Staples, Ikea and Homebase Monday as im working the weekend and report back my findings!

I suppose the best deals are when things are on sale but i need a chair NOW!!! I cant even get that 15% discount this weekend at Homebase because im working :\
