It's pretty windy at the beach in Christchurch. I'd say about 40mph based on a random guess. The BBC says the storm will still be rocking when I get up for work at 6am Monday, I bet the trains wont be running...

My preparations extend to charging up my vita, phone, tablet, laptop which might provide 8h of non bordom in the event of a power cut.

It's only my second race. Complete contrast to the London 10K back in July when it was 31C by the time we crossed the finish line. I like running in the rain, but not storm force winds! I'll look you up in the running thread tomorrow to find out how you got on (if we don't get swept away!).

Seems like standard UK weather so far (here at least). Looking at the weather websites posted a couple of pages ago tomorrow is the complete opposite to what was predicted for Sunday, sun all day, wind averaging 10, gusts of up to 40. 7mm of rain Sunday night and a bit windy on Monday.

My preparations extend to going to bed at about 11PM and getting a good nights sleep.

Well originally was aiming for 1:20 but ITB injury so just a run out for me

taking my super expensive waterproof running jacket but hate getting wet feet

It was a bit breezy up on top of the mountains in Snowdonia today, I got knocked over by a couple gusts! Character building!
