**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Get your point but for me it's always been about the gameplay and graphics second, I'll still fire up a SNES and have fun. If you want to play more detailed games (not graphic detail) then you need to go next gen as majority of the line up coming out for next gen won't be available on current.

But each to their own, some prefer graphics first before enjoyment/fun of the actual game but for me that isn't a main selling feature, I've chose xbox simply because in this gen it's been the most easiest, fun to play with friends and I've preferred the xbox only titles.

Funny how it goes isn't it.

The annoying thing is that it happens in the first place, as if some people take actual satisfaction pointing out inferiority on a certain platform.

The abuse I got for owning a Dreamcast from PS2 owners, despite them having to wait 2 years (3 if you count the headstart DC had) before they had a game worth playing :p

I'm glad that I chose to stick with my atari jaguar.

All about my C64 man

I've got an XB1 on preorder but there isn't much positivity around it at the moment it has to be said!

Main thing I'm worried about is the build quality of these things, seems like they're struggling to churn them out in the quantities they wanted which is why they delayed the launch in loads of places, add to the fact they've got form in this area (how many peoples launch 360's didn't RROD, very very few!) so id be worried the quality control on them isn't going to be that thorough!

Seems like they've been in a mess ever since E3 when Sony caught them on the hop and they've been on the Back foot ever since.

I'm getting tempted to just cancel everything and wait until early next year.

Tbh if I was getting a box this is what I would do, well I'd buy it Asap after launch as long as it was running right.

Course all these rumours could be rubbish but I'd hold off buying at launch just to be sure

I'm a die hard Xbox fan, but I'm finding it hard to sink my cash in right now, way too much uncertainty.

I wouldn't say i'm die hard but I definitely favour the Xbox, love my 360, thought it would just be a natural progression for me, but like you I just cant justify investing what is a huge amount of money for me into something with so many (rumoured) issues.

720p or 1080p it doesn't matter. Aslong as you have fun playing a game then graphics come second.

Then we would all be buying Wii-U's... I agree with you though. I have had much more enjoyment out of my Wii than I have my PS3 or even PC

Here is a post from thuway on gaf, think he's known as some like like cboat but not as big.

Post launch, when developers start taking advantage of compute on the PS4, despite Xbone's best efforts to get tools to work better, the gap will stay as large or widen. As far as I understand, the gap will always remain significant, but never in the realm of outside portability.

This isn't an "opinion" btw.

Just cancelled my Xbox One order, I ordered it along with a PS4 but have been thinking of cancelling one or the other to fund the purchase of an iPad Air and the doubts about the Xbox One's performance has helped me pick which console to cancel.

I will no doubt still get an Xbox One in the future (most likely when Halo 5 is released) but no launch day console for me now.

Of course it is an opinion, for now. We can call it fact if indeed post launch the margin stays the same or increase.

Does sound like troubling times for the Xbox One though

For me the main benefit on launch day is not the resolution, its the games, and currently its looking like microsoft have the lead for the launch, especially after drive club got delayed. Had drive club not got delayed Id have gone for the ps4 and cancelled the xbox, as it is Ive done the opposite, if you told me 6 months ago that id get the xbox on launch and not the ps4, Id have considered you some kind of madman.

My XboxONE preorder is staying. I'm not cancelling it.

a lot of these rumours dont bother me.

As for resolutions, I don't mind what resolution a game is. 720p and above is fine by me. It's the framerate I want to see solid, I'm happy to see a resolution drop inorder to allow for that.

True but will be annoying when ps4 has the better graphics and a higher frame rate.

I'm not too worried about it but the latest rumours of os instability and constant crashes is worrying. I'm not paying £500 for something that doesn't work properly.

Gonna wait another couple of weeks but my finger is hovering over the cancel button.

Me too. 720p is unacceptable (if true) and for all of these people that are saying about coding for new architecture have that argument pretty much voided straight away considering where now back in line with x86-64 architecture which developers have been used to for years.

Just everything about this console screams rushed to me, the reversals in policies, whether or not you had to have kinect for the thing to work... and not even having an adapter that allows previous xbox users to use their headphones on the new system is mind-boggling.

The whole reason many people prefer the Xbox was down to the community... but talking to people using the default headset in the box leaves me a little cold. And don't even mention using the Kinect microphone. I will wait until next week to get this clarified but if this turns out to be true, I'm cancelling.
