mega storms uk next week

is been raining on and off all morning with the odd blast off high wind. so much so that the kitchen fan spins,

so far the wind hasn't set my car alarm off so it can't/hasn't been that bad.

Its not meant to be bad, not for another 18 hours.
I dont get this confusion.

Wonder how many crashes wiill happen on the m5 going south tomorrow, off at 6:30am. I bet there will be idiots out there, not driving to the conditions. At least it's still dark then, so people will have their liights on.

I drove home at 8pm yesterday, maybe a distance of 4-5 miles, and passed 4 cars without their lights on.....

I'm sure some people get their licence from the corn flakes box.

Quite windy here today, put it this way I had to chase a car mat down the road as I was cleaning my car.

you can see it in the tree's, as it hits your face something is brewing, i nearly got knocked back a bit earlier with a gust

They have closed one of the bridges for high vehicals due to high winds

M48 Severn Bridge:
The bridge is closed to high-sided vehicles due to high winds, if it picks up they will probably close the bridge completely

Nice to know, good job I'm not heading to Bristol... at least they are closing it for a good reason instead of someone sneezing in Swansea and closing the m48 bridge.

Although I'm in Newport so I have access to the new bridge.

I'm meant to be driving from Bristol to Exeter for 9am Monday, thinking I might head down tonight. There'l be some pretty strong side winds tomorrow morning.

A bit grey and a bit wet here. Just another typical UK "rainy day". I don't expect it to get any worse either, even though we're in the Amber warning zone.

Why is thread full of people saying 'lol its not even bad outside' despite the fact the storm isnt due to get here until the early hours of Monday morning?
