Corresponds with the big patch of cloud thats been moving over the atlantic all week as per someones link before to google maps with weather overlay.

I've just been out and battened down the shed roof as the wind has already tried to rip some off. Also secured the glass in the shed as it's rotten and wasn't secured too well. We'll see what's left of the fence in 24 hours, that is also rotten and has been repaired a fair few times!

The colours make it seem more intense than it is. They only correspond to fairly average precipitation levels. :D

What are you trying to record? The storm is currently in the atlantic, you just recorded a random bit of cloud and rain

I know, I am just having a bit of fun on the internet, hence the description

I know its not the "actual" storm ;)

Thats just the edge of the weather front though :P (not to say the rest is anything different).

I suppose, are there no better satellite images of the Atlantic at present? Does anyone offer such a thing?

Would appear it's this

I'm going to call this as a complete load of nothing!! Some wind and rain. Big woop

looks like most of it might not even hit england

looks like the middle of it might pass london though :P

guess it depends how north the winds end up pushing as it gets closer

The heaviest winds should be south of the heaviest rain band, it should push northeast over night.

I like how everyone in this thread, armed with a few satellite pictures, are suddenly meteorological experts, able to not only perform the billions of calculations necessary to make these forward predictions, but perfectly accurately interpret the results.

In reality, the storm is predicted for this evening/tomorrow morning - there's not even a wind alert for today, only Monday - and what we are experiencing now is just a bit of normal wind and rain that happens to be ahead of the main storm.

it's not hard goto raintoday
look at the moving images , see which way the winds are pushing :P
it's a very accurate website usually much more accurate than the weather forecasts on TV which are done in advance and not as they are happening

unless the forecasters are giving 15minute forecasts then they are not going to be as accurate as a forum user watching raintoday's weather radars
