Disagree to some extent - the closer the weather gets the more likely that simplified extrapolations of the available data will be accurate. I don't think its unreasonable to take the information from sites like raintoday, etc. and make some semi-educated guesses at how weather thats only hours away will turn out.
 
Getting ready for this supposed storm, just to be safe, kids charging everything up, getting some candles ready. Making sure Guinea Pigs are safe in the garden lol. They are fortified now. Ready to bring them in if it gets real bad. Samsung S3 and PS Vita fully charged, I'm all set.
 
To be honest as a home owner and someone in the construction industry, storms bother me. A structural engineer once told me UK construction is good for about 70mph but beyond that you can be in real bother of major damage.
