OK with all the XO stuff happening, Ive been trying to find out more about the PS4, because lets be honest with only a few weeks to go theres still a lot to discover and the apparent silence is getting annoying.
Id rather be prepared/informed than to have my head in the sand

.
So far it looks like there are gonna be concerns about journalists having the ability to review and edit direct-feed PS4 footage as they arent being given PS4 dev kits and with the retail PS4 at launch having HDCP protection for games theyll have to go a roundabout way to get that so thats not ideal, but I dont think it affects informed consumers, nor the built in sharing.
Sony EU did promise that we would see more UI/OS stuff on the blog but I havent seen anything other than the details regards digital DRM (tbh I dont actively read the blog so may have missed announcements), which just sound much of a muchness that we had with the PS3. Ive not actively been looking out for this stuff, but we have only had teasers (Yosp tweeting a screenshot lfrom PS4) and not a real demo of the whole OS/UI. It seems this might be tied into the whole press presentation Sony want to do which includes PS4 PSN, the problem is that its quite late in the day (days before US launch IIRC?!?)to find this stuff out especially if there are issues (and to be candid, I expect issues with PSN compared to XBL just because of their history)
Im glad theyve announced that 300MB patch and ALL the things its adds/fixes, day one patch(es) no doubt were expected, shame suspend/resume isnt part of day one features, but right now for me its incidental if its there or not if theres more important things for Sony to work on.
I know there are other things but only heard tidbits from people here and NeoGAF is just a bit mental over the last week or so - be grateful if people can add anything they think is credible and their take on it because it at least leads to useful discussion and information.
Someone mentioned PS4 overheating on the XO thread so Id like to find the source of that as thats the only hardware issue Ive seen so far, rest of it just revolves around Sony just being really pushed getting the OS/UI/PSN ready which seems to have led me to make this post...
