Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

il been downloading it for a while atm 9.2 gig in to it , can i stop it and download and continue same tomorrow or i will get the error ?

takes ages at 320~370 kb/s

It worked :D Thanks for the help guys

I ended up just leaving the VPN on until it automatically timed out then click ok. I never paused/ disconnected from origin/ closed origin down and speeds automatically picked up..

Just redo the VPN trick and you can keep DLing. I am doing the same as you as I am rocking an "awesome" BT openzone connection here (20% packet loss FTW)
 
Mines just started working, only 56 hours left if the dl thing is right, I'll wait for a tick and then quit the vpn connection.

Have you bought just the BF4 game? no expansions?
 
Joe any word on the pre-load for those of us who ordered via the origin uk store back in march?

This is what i get for buying it the correct way. :D
 
Sorry Matt my earlier statement still stands, for those who ordered before July (so June backwards) you have no choice but to wait until official preload due to changes in the way the origin store works.

What you could do , but I take no responsibility for this, is DL it as a torrent now > wait until official pre load > pre load like 10mb then copy paste the full 24gb from torrent into your BF4 folder and continue DL, at that point origin recognizes the game and either complete installation / repairs to complete.

In theory it'll work just like how you back up BF3 to another HD then pull it back over when reinstalling windows for example. However I have not tried this method so try at your own risk.

edit...Told you at the time (b4banned) that you should wait, iirc my exact words were "I will leave it as late as possible to avoid being shafted by EA". Well LT, I hope you are fully lubed :D

Ahh dunno the exact reason I am afraid.

That info was directly from an EA rep tho, they also said we cannot get banned for using VPN to DL early but it is against TOS to buy through VPN (even tho according to 2 well known BF websites who went into the TOS's and found there is no such clause in EA TOS (but there is in steam)) anyway I digress.

Please let me know how it goes, but as you won't know until pre-release it is not really all that important, just may save time for those with lower end connections.

I've just checked my Paypal status on the transaction, it says the hold was removed on the 21st Oct. I pre ordered on the 26th September.

I preordered on the 24th September and my money has been taken out of PayPal. I had to do the confirming thing as well since it was a different email.

Just found this:
When will payment be taken?
Payment will be taken on the 28th day from the pre-order being placed (payments expire after 28 days unless we capture the funds) unless the pre-order's official release date is within the next 28 days. In this case payment will be taken 24-48 hours before the games official release date.

i said this earlier in the week ! EA wont ban you for unlocking game earlier. so dont worry about that. it was confirmed by EA community manager ;)
