Corsair RM 750 Fan not spinning under load.

Hi Guys,

I have a Corsair RM 750, I know its a power saving PSU which doesnt use the fan have the time but even under 85% load (gaming and streaming at the same time) The fan does not spin ...

Any ideas? Have i got a faulty PSU? It's 2 months old

Have you used you used the corsair link to check the temperature and load? And what's your spec because you must be using a lot if it's on 85-90% load

Using a 8350 @ 4ghz with 8 Gigs of Corsair Ram, 7970 Matrix Platinum.

Not used the software, im getting CPU spikes every so often when streaming.

Look at the corsair link and see what that shows as load and temperature, that should be more accurate.

Can you try using OCCT and stress testing the PSU that way? Leave it for a good 15 - 30 minutes.

Currently running OCCT now, on the PSU tab, The fan is spinning so thats a good sign, however, my CPU usage is at 100% and 7.3 GB of ram is being used. Temps according to HWmonitor is 31 degrees (98F)

Any ideas whats causing these CPU spikes?

OCCT, Its a CPU and Memory benchmark to stress them out to the limit.

Sorry, i didn't really explain my issue too well, basically im getting crazy CPU spikes when streaming and playing at the same time, generally the CPU usage is around 55% and then it spikes to 100% CPU usage out of no where for roughly 5 seconds then calms down again.

Open task manager and keep an eye on what process "spikes" the CPU

seems to be OBS (OPEN BROADCAST SOFTWARE) the streaming program.

That'll be it encoding the video for your stream.
Doesn't look like you've got a problem to me.
