Hey Guys

I am going to be building a new PC for gaming and i make YouTube videos so i need it to be able to run fraps with maxed out graphics

This is what I've come up with so far, i have a £3000 budget

Was wondering if you would swap anything out for something else or if there's something i may have missed, i don't like SLI so i've decided against that.

any suggestions?

EDIT: I've made some changes based on feedback from you guys, thanks! the GFX card will be the 780ti

Woah, there's a lot of overspending I can see there. With that sort of budget and the price drop on Nvidia's cards, there's no reason for you not to have an SLI setup.

No, a Titan is definitely not worth it.

Why such an expensive 780? Why not get two of these? Another possibility if you're watercooling is to go for a R290X, it's faster than a 780 and the only downside is the bad stock cooler which you won't be using.

A 1000W PSU is way overkill for a single GPU.

Do you need to spend that much on the SSD/Sound card/Motherboard? You can get something almost as good for half the price in most instances, the very very best stuff always costs a high premium.

65g thermal? all you need is 6g ;x

also wait for 780ti or go with R290X with WB cause then you can push them to max ;)

Also 1000W too much for 1 card get a 850W

Ah thanks guys, how much do you think the 780ti will cost and do they have an estimated date for the release?

@stulid

I was going to get 2133mhz ram but i watched a video that showed RAM Mhz for gaming has little difference and can reduce the RAM lifetime

@Calneon

I want to get the best parts to last me the next 2 years and i need a big SSD to put my fave games on, what changes would you make?

@mrozik

Do you think the 780ti would be ok with 850w

@Lee

thanks, any suggestions mate?

About ram if you're goin to play Bf4 or new games that will come out in next year they WILL use quicker RAM = performance

780ti yea 850W will be plenty :)

850w can run SLI 780's !

You've picked a case that comes with watercooling and have then added an h100i, bit of an odd mix? That's two sets of watercooling for one CPU!

Edit: I'd be a bit tempted to get one of these as a graphics card:

We'd need to make sure it fits in the case, I'm way too lazy to check at this time of the morning but maybe someone will if you're interested!

Edit2: Also 850W is still overkill in the PSU department for a single card.

Im sorry to say it, but that spec is ALL kinds of wrong..

Firstly you've got a 'pre-watercooled' case then included a H100i, why? Which do you want to do, custom watercooling or use the H100i?

A 1TB SSD is silly OTT.. I'd get a 250/500Gb and a 2TB HDD (or 2, or 3), that will be more than enough.

Points have already been made on the sound card and colour scheme.. Which i agree with.

(Sorry if this offends) It just seems like you've picked the most expensive components from each catergory with little thought..

£70 on dust filters.. Hmmmm.. Priorities..

Thanks for the advice guys, truth is i'm quite new to building PC's but i want a monster machine to last me about 2 years, i'm an nvidia fanboy so i'm gonna go with the 780ti when that gets released

i've switched out the motherboard to the g1 sniper, that goes much better and the reviews are great for that mb

I'll delete the h100i as you said the case is watercooled, i forgot about that.

@Doomedspeed

no offense taken mate, i'm new to all this so you're completely right, i need the 1TB SSD because i have over 500 games on steam so i need a lot of space for the good ones, i'm a steam addict xD

Thats fair enough but i point is, you need to install all on to your SSD.. It makes no difference to your games and just hog's space.

All you need is the exe's on your SSD, which steam will do (aslong as steam is installed on your SSD and you install the games, via steam, to a mech HDD). You'll see no difference in load up time.

Installing whole programs to SSD's is helpful for video editing and photo/video rendering programs but not games.. though many people do have Games SSD's.. I just don't see the benifit.
