Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Tried loads of drivers, all direct x fixes etc..

game still crashes after about 20 minutes or less with device hung error. Used to happen in Battlefield 3 aswell.. using a 7950 :/

It's not overheating or anything but it is very annoying can't play a full game! :(

I have the same problem. My current attempted fix is via the registry, in summary the OS beleives the card has hung when clearly it has not. You can introduce a delay greater than the 2 secons default, I believe 8 seconds is the recommended value, but I've not opted to disable it completely.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff569918(v=vs.85).aspx

To disable it:

Code:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\graphicsdriver\

create dword "TdrLevel" with the binary value of 0.

I'm still in testing, but so far so good. I'm on Wind 8.1 with a GTX660 (non ti).

My crash would happen randomly, getting great FPS then boom, crash to desktop with the hung message (though not full desktop, task manager able to open and then switch application to see the error).

Be interesting to see if this helps you. I'm nearly tempted to buy an AMD card.

netcode is slow with update and you nedd your ping matched to the server around 40-60ms

I had 200hours played in BF3 in 2 years.
it sucked badly. I just hate it.

Why did you play a game you hate for over 8 full days of your life? I don't understand that.

I played 15 hours of BF4 beta and thought that was a lot!

Oh, I'm now downloading the game (paid for via UK Origin, no VPN no questionable currency good old sterling and getting 6.88MB/Sec download. 45 minutes remaining.

It's a fair point though, fair enough if you don't like something then let people know your opinion.

But there's no need to spend precious time on your life repeating to people how much you don't like it, whilst reading a thread dedicated to it really, is there?

Overclocks? Stable. Remove them and try again.

Well for me personally I made one post, expressing my disgust at the way this series has gone, whilst deluded individuals shout at the top of their whiny voices " ITS NOT COD HONEST " or " PEOPLE DONT LIKE IT BC ITS POPULAR"

Then to top it off you get others so incredibly holistic about the recent "fad" that you dare utter opinion in a thread designed for opinion.
It somehow hurts their feelings as they get so swept up in launch hype that nothing else is worthy of thought.

I know for sure that in one or two months time, half of the people getting all bitchy (bc they are) will suddenly find themselves on the other side of the fence expressing their issues with the game, since for some reason they couldn't objectively identify these during the launch hype blindness.

Its fine to get annoyed at games, its fine to play betas and not buy them, and its fine to discuss them in a meaningful way and to be happy that both points of view are being put across. Having one big circle jerk (either pro or neg) helps nobody and leads to disappointment once the fog has cleared.
I thought we were all a little but more maturer than that!
