Fastest and most silent GPU for SFF (2slot)

Hi,

I am currently building my new SFF PC and realized that the Asus 7970 DC2 Top doesnt fit!! Please suggest me the most silent and fastest GPU for 2 slot and 1080p gaming.

7990 and 690 are too fast, too expensive, too hot and in general not for SFF cases

Your missing some important information from your post which would probably help people a lot, mainly what case are you planning on using.

I would have thought a HIS 7950 would have been a good fit as it will exhaust hot air rather than dump heat into the case.

The case is Lian-Li PC-V355, i5-3570k, Extreme4-m, 8GB. Unfortunately I already have an Asus DC2 7970 Top which doesn't fit because of its height!! I am not looking for something faster but smaller and at least the same noise.

Searching on internet, I have narrowed down my choices to these:
GTX680, GTX 670 and 7950. I am looking for these in the used market...

It uses an mATX motherboard,its not a SFF PC!!!

The case has 4 slots so surely the Asus is fine:

Have you looked at the Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X OC??

Is it the width or the height of the card which is the problem??

The card is not fine because of its height! It conflicts with the PSU. The length and the width are ok. Please bear in mind I also have a Creative labs z sound card.

Would a 780 with stock cooler fit?
It exhausts the hot air from the case too

It would fit but I think an 780 is a little overkill and also expensive.

If only the height of the card is an issue, consider to replace it with a 2 slot height one, either by trying to exchange or or downgrade to a 7950 with some extra cash left.

However if the length of the card is the issue also, seems you have only one option.

Well, this is my plan. I am trying to find a used 680, 670, 7950 or even 770 to fit it in the case.
