This is the kind of sale I dream about on Steam. Thought it qualified for its own thread because it's tied to one genre [ish]. If it doesn't belong here, remove it.

I need some advice since I haven't heard of a lot of these games and I'm seeing some high metas.

From the list I have

Left4Dead
FEAR
Lone Survivor
Penumbra Collection
Amnesia
Fallout 3
Alan Wake
Bioshock
Limbo
Painkiller
Condemned
Alice

Is Outlast worth it? Same question for Silent Hill Homecoming. Closure also looks interesting.

Anything else along these lines anyone can recommend?

ive picked up bioshock 1, ive had the 2 sat in my library for a while managed to pick it up as a free gift for buying something else, but been waiting for the first one to go cheap before playing

First one is amazing. Really enjoyed it, didn't finish 2 because it was too boring.

The first F.E.A.R is fantastic, a great FPS, the horror elements aren't the greatest, practically jump scares, but what it lacks is made up by the awesome shooting, pick it up! (Don't pick up 2 or 3 though.)

Fallout: New Vegas is a must by, a great RPG. Another great RPG is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Severely underrated and unknown due to being released on the same day as HL2 (ouch!).

Painkiller: Black Edition is the best Painkiller, and it's loads a fun, a slower, darker version of Serious Sam, it's great.

Amnesia Is also good, haven't played too much of it due to being a scared y cat, but oh well :D

Looks like i did the right thing in waiting... but will give them both a shot, i have liked a few games they people have raved about, and vica versa.... looking forward to getting stuck into it though.

Once again Steam have found my wallet, thought i hid it so well this time

I kinda enjoyed Clive Barkers Jericho for the freaky enemys, but I am a big fan of his, so kind of biased. At 87p you might do worse. :D

So what's good out of them?

Amnesia
bioshock
killing floor (for multiplayer)
serious sam 3 {not a horror but good for LAN laughs)
overlord ( Not a horro, dont really know why i like this, just remember playing it a lot quite a few years ago, not played it since though as i lost my copy)
Orcs mut die (not really a horror, but got quite a few hours racked up playing with mates)
F.E.A.R (not bad for a blast, got some nice wierd parts in it, nice shooting game)
PvZ (great time killer, not a horror though)
Dungeon defnenders (again, not a horror, but fun if you have quite a couple of mates to play with)
Alan wake (really good game imo, made me feel eerie quite a few times!)
Sleeping dogs (for 4 quid its worth it, not a horror, wasted a few hours on it)
Dont Starve (a very different game, not played it a great deal, but when i did i enjoyed it)
Fall out (great games)
penmumbra (nice puzzley type horror game)
Nazi Zombie Army (again, good for lans or playing with mates)

Thats all i can remember tbh, i have a few more of them, but ive either not played them, wanted to forget them or are so popular, you should have them already :P

The beginning scared me with the baby crying in the abandoned building, something about that made me wet myself! or further in and the girl behind the glass just watching!
