Christmas is coming I have a 13 year old boy and a 10 year old girl, they love to use my iPad, and simply its the best thing out there. But they want their own tablets or ereader, and im not spending that much on them for xmas as I cant afford it.

So im looking at the cheap CPW one, the Nook HD or just an ereader like the Kobo mini any other options out there gods of OCUK????

How about the Hudl? My sister just got one so I should get hands on to play with. Think they are about £100 and a 7" device which should suit? :)

I must admit I was quite impressed with the HUDL when I had a little play last week.

Best thing is if you have Tesco vouchers it is on the double points offer.

my boy had a nexus 7 which we sold and picked up a nook hd

nook is a lot of tablet for the money and battery is fantastic

charges really quickly as well

we now have purchased another nook best value tablet ever

and screen is awesome

it even plays real racing

Just seen an advert for a galaxy tab 2 7inch for £109 with £20 free vouchers from a red logo`d high street shop.

I'm now in the same boat as MrMoon. My 7yr old niece in Australia is after a tablet. What would people recommend between the nook, hudl or galaxy tab 2? They are all in the £100 region.

Really after expandable storage, front camera and enough performance for angry birds etc. :)

Yeah I'm looking for a tablet too, but unsure of the Nook HD+ or Hudl. Not really any comparisons with the HD+ as it's normally more expensive.

The Hudl has an IPS screen, but only 7". I like the bigger 9" screen on the Nook HD+, but it's not IPS, and some people have had problems with Nook tablets/e-readers (but my Nook Simple Touch has been great). All the other 9" tablets are like double the price or more. Hmm...

The Nook HD/+ doesn't have a camera, front or back, and the camera on the Hudl is reported to be atrocious. Neither meet your requirements.

Guess I'll have to play with the tab 2 then. The front camera will just be for Skype occasionally, doesn't have to be amazing quality.
