At the same place I work. But to go from general worker to section manager, it't the next step up for me, we don't have team leaders. I haven't had many interviews, but this is the first time I am going to be going in to an interview and not be bricking it.
None of the other applicants know the companies software as well as I do, or how the track and trace systems work, at all. Even the current managers and the shift managers turn to me for that. Only one other has the experience I do working with other departments and the clients, and as he works nights, he doesn't seem have the same rapport with them as I do. "I know Martin can do that" is probably the most used sentence at my site!
So I know I have the technical ability, which is why I don't feel so nervous. A little nervous yea, but I am actually looking forward to this one.
But, how do I convince them I have the ... I dunno ... personality for it? Most are going to the interview in uniform (or say they are at least) whilst I will be shirt and tie. But I know I need to show that I have the presence to manage staff without looking cocky or arrogant. It doesn't help that despite being 30 people assume from my looks that I am 20 at most.
