Hi there

There is a lot of talk about GTX 780 GHz GPU, well OcUK has secured an exclusive on Gigabytes card. You will find companies like MSI won't bother with such cards as their Lightning Editions will already be using B1 stepping GPU's, also companies like Inno3D. But anyone who wants to be guaranteed a GHz core, Gigabyte now offering it.

How does GHz GTX 780 differ? The GPU is identical, it is just a new stepping with high frequencies out of the box, giving it better out of the box performance and potentially better OC headroom, though that is yet to be proven.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 WindForce 3x "GHz Edition" 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card **OcUK Exclusive** @ £449.99 inc VAT

Very tempted by the regular version as a change from my sli 670's. Great price on it.

Are you not tempted by say 770 SLI? I personally do not like dual card solution but i was even tempted by the thought of SLI 770 4GB cards. When you sell the six free games you should not be that far off £500.

Thinking of going for one 780 to start with then add another secondhand one later. My current cards oc'd wouldnt be that far off sli 770 speed. Tbf, sli has been exceptionally smooth for me with theese cards. May just wait and see what the 780ti is like.

Oc'd, the cards i have will surpass stock 680 speed. So no real point looking at the 770 series.

How does the non ghz gigabyte card compare to the evga acx sc?
Had a few evga cards and never had any problems with them.
The evga seem like they clock a little higher from reviews.
For £399 with 3 games its very tempting.

I don't regret getting my 780 mate, damn good performance! I nearly bought another this morning after seeing some crazy deals but I don't need that level of performance yet. They're that fast.

looks nice - I was tempted with a stock Gigabyte 780 OC earlier but not sure now

wonder why they've not overclocked the memory to the "GHz" touted speeds - are they still using Samsung ICs ?

dillema now - wondering if it means they are binning the cores, and if I now go for a standard one lower chance of getting a decent overclock :(

decisions

Buy both and send the duff clocker back.

^^ lol - I only just read it states that the Gigabyte "GHz" will be B1 steppings - interesting

is the product ID for the standard Gigabyte 780 OC correct ? I'd have thought now all new ones being sold were V2 editions with the dual 8 pin power inputs ? I'm hoping these are - and just no V2 in the product ID

Interesting, which Inno3D would that be? Are any other cards secretly using B1 steppings? Any reference coolers with B1?

Also, give us a cheeky wink if you have had a play with 780Ti.

I believe so, think V1 is long ago, V1 was blue PCB, V2 black PCB which they have being for a long time.
I have a V1 since 31st May 2013, and it's also got a black PCB, only way you will be able to tell is by the sticker, and of course the 8 pin, 6pin connector on the V2, as opposed to the 6pin, 6pin connector on my V1.

Will be nice if that GHz BIOS with the Core Base Clock: 1019 MHz works on normal card..
