7870 died after two weeks, now ordered a 7950

Hi all
I have been getting the black screen of death, and random lock ups ever since I bought the card from that auction site two weeks ago.
It took me while to pinpoint it as the whole build was upgraded. Also I installed windows 8/8.1 at the time, and saw the issues people were having and suspected it was a bug with the O/S.

Turns out the serial number on the card related to the issue which caused a sapphire recall. Lucky for me I am getting a refund, as the seller has no more.
I then ordered a 7950 His iceQ from Ocuk for an outlay of £70.

Lesson learnt, only buy from the mm or Ocuk.
