Update on post #22

Hi guys, received my new card this morning :D and I figured as the are literally 0 reviews of it online I should prob make a post or something with pictures and and performance figures to help other people interested in this card.

To kick it off some pics (Note: It only came with 1 Haribo, there's actually about 30-40 of them on the table, been saving them for Halloween):

Ill get some numbers up once it's incorporated into the loop, but can start with some information:

This card comes clocked the same as the GTX780 FTW edition and MSI's lightning edition (980MHz core, 1033MHz boost), which means "out of the box" it has a 15% overclock and should be slightly edging out over a Titan and on par with a 290X, not bad for a £499 card with £50 worth of games included. However these cards are apparently not binned so overclocking is not guaranteed.

Why did I choose to buy this card over others? well the big one is it has a water block fitted as standard which is a nice bonus for those of us who run loops, the card even comes with two pairs of compression fittings (1/2" and 3/8"), this card costs £70 more than an equally clocked FTW edition and you cannot buy a 780/Titan block for that, plus personally speaking I have gotten to the point in life where the thought of refitting a GPU cooler for an RMA is worth paying to avoid anyway :P

The block itself is a Swiftech Titan FC block (as this 780 is basically reference) which produces very good GPU temps, but as water blocks go it's RAMtemps are average and it's VRM temps are among the worst (OFC still much better than air), this is due to the blocks construction, only having a narrow channel over the GPU and part of the RAM/VRM, as a long term water cooler none of this bothers me as I don't care if my VRM temps are 1/3 of air or 2/3. (NOTE: The 780 Classified HC does not use the Titan block like the normal 780 HC does, it uses one apparently based on the 770 HC block which means the VRM plate is just a passive copper heatsink unconnected to the GPU/RAM block, I have no idea how swiftech deemed this adequate).

Well that's some pics and some info on the card and why I decided to purchase it done, will add numbers tonight :)

I have to say that looks very nice indeed. Wish I could convince (sneak past) the mrs to set up a custom loop. only thing is my pc is hidden away in a stand.

I Have XSPC blocks on my SLI 780s H20 is so much better than the stock air coolers which on mine would hit 80c and throttle the card a little but on water now I get 24c idle and 60c load running overclock.

The EVGA is a very nice looking card grats on your purchase.

I nearly got one of these, but i could not find out any info on the barbs, went for the EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX instead, same as the back plate is worth £15 to £20 meaning that block was a bargain, mine is cool and quiet on air so far, only hitting 63c, will have a better idea tommorow on temps when get stuck in to bf4 :)

Will wait and see now and maybe get another 240 rad and XSPC raystorm gpu full block after christmas, could do with a bigger ssd next, but we shall see :)
