Hi folks,

My iPhone 4 battery is looking like it is on its last legs. Our little lad loves watching cartoons and stuff on Youtube and this reuslts in the phone requiring to be charged on a bit more of a regular basis than it would get normally. I think that's what's done the battery in.

Anyway, looking for a replacement battery for it and as it looks simple to change it I don't fancy putting it into an Apple store to be charged £60 so I'd like to buy the battery and fit it myself, but where to source one? Do the Apple shops sell the batteries on their own and if so, how much? What about that 'well known auction site'? Has anyone purchased a battery from there and had a good experience, if so could you point me towards a recommended seller? Are the batteries on the bay all much of a muchness or are some rubbish? It's difficult to tell what one to go for as some say 'Genuine OEM' but if you read the advert listing its not 100% clear whether they are or not?

Ta. :)

No idea, but you can find part numbers on http://www.ifixit.com/iPhone-Parts/iPhone-4-Replacement-Battery/IF182-000

Maybe try shoving them in Google or just get one shipped from the states directly from above?

Ta, I'll check the part number of the current battery inside the phone.

And please don't get a cheapo knock off job!

That's part of the issue, it's hard to tell what is/isn't a dodgy knock off one!! Certainly on the bay anyway where I imagine most of them will be knock off's. Although I could be wrong.
