Those guys are losers. I mean, capable of interstellar travel, presumable faster than light, able to remain unseen by every reputable astronomer (let alone Joe Buckfast Bloggs) and yet crash/get shot down by puny earth technology. Fail.

Indeed, if an advanced alien race was visiting the earth & didn't want it's intentions known - it seems surprising that they keep being spotted/crashing every so often.

What kind of advance race would be capable of travelling across the galaxy, but then randomly also being incapable of evading the gaze of a global selection of red-necks & crackpots.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with believe that aliens exist somewhere in the galaxy (as there is nothing really special about the earth) but it's pretty silly to think they are here now.
