Battlefield 4 Thread ~ Server details in opening post ~

Whilst I am not overly enamored with the game so far, it is early days. Crashing and bugs have been evident for every BF game that there ever was for the first few weeks. Anyone remember the last patch for BF2 which was something ridiculous like 4 years after release?

Give it time.
 
Papa, no offence but I think a lot of us have heard that same line after every release of battlefield and it gets boring rather fast. We shouldn't have to give it time, I had a game last night were the sound kept popping in and out. This reminded me of the same rubbish glitch that affected the 360 version of BF3. Things like that shouldn't be happening
 
Had 3 crashes in a row but you know what , i have enjoyed that 3 hours gameplay i just had previous too that .

Maps are stunning
Vehicles are fairly balanced , Nerf inc for the attack boat i can already see it .
Graphics and optimization wise its pretty good .
50-60FPS constantly, All ultra apart from 2xMSAA instead of 4xMSAA . that's on a 660ti with a i5 3570k !
 
I can't comment on multiplayer because I haven't played that yet, but the single player is absolute trash. Graphically it's often worse than BF3 (don't know how they managed that with the same engine plus two years two work on it) and gameplay-wise it's absolutely inane.

That stuff with the helicopter near the start. What is the point?

I agree that they should not happen, but they always have. There is a very good game behind all these teething problems, you just, like everyone else, need a little patience.

When I first fired up BF2 it was plagued with problems, but 6 years after release and 2000 hours later it turned out to be, in my opinion, the best game ever made. I'm not saying BF4 will go down in the history books (because it won't), but games like this that have so much crammed into them are bound to have a few teething issues.

Tonight has been full of annoyances

I can't seem to kill anyone, but they can kill me. What moron at DICE though that giving engineers PDW as the main weapon choices was a good idea?

When I do get a good game the server crashes and I lose my upgrades

In the rush to add more features to the game I don't think it was fully thought through what would happen when these are combined together with poor team balancing.

and don't get me started on snipers...

Just joined a game and insta disconnect, I've had it a few times, I hope its them fixing the servers...
 
the crashing is beyond a joke, mine keeps crashing was just getting stuck into campaign and it crashed on me at the chopper bit I got gold too
