Upgrade msi 7950 Twin Frozr 3Gb @1080p

I was looking at seeing was it worth an upgrade if im gaming at 1080p for the moment i want to play bf4 and heard this card did reasonably well 3gb ram helps i suppose i wanted to get a card that will be fairly future proof for a while i was looking at the r9 290x as i heard it was a beast albeit a very hot one lol or should i concentrate on buying a new 1440p monitor i was going to buy a new console xbox one/ps4 but realised pc gaming will leave them in the dust

If you buy a 1440p monitor you will then probably need the 290x. I would imagine with Mantle bf4 will run great even on a 7950 but thats purely speculation.

Exactly what i've been thinking over the last 24 hours.. i can run maxed 1080p with 4xMSAA and 99% of the time it feels smooth and lag free. I even tried that Parcel Force map that some said was pretty hard on the GPU and i was like.. huh? This is a nice map

Im probly gona grab one of those Corsair H80 referbs before i do crossfire 7950's.

My card runs all my games maxed out so im gona be wasting money upgrading.

Heres my Flood Zone bench from yesterday. I know its only 7 minutes long but gives me an idea at least. This is max 1080p 4xMSAA with overclock just at 1050/1500 (can go higher if i wish) and i'll probly just run 2xMSAA once the game bugs are ironed out.. and Mantle comes of course

I run Battlefield 4 on the Twin Frozr 7950.

1080p all settings maxed except. Meshquality medium, SSAO and 2 x MSAA and it mostly runs at 60-85fps, very occasionally I will see high 40's but I am very very happy with the performance and this is even before mantle comes out so who knows.

I don't think I will be upgrading for a while. <3 7950.

@Op.. and if ur still not happy then go crossfire That will beat a stock 290x so they say on here.
